Burlamacco carries on its carnival theme at its new diner.\"\"<\/strong><\/h5>\n

\"\"With the lifting of Circuit Breaker, more restaurants are now open for dining in. If you are in the Redhill area, we\u2019d highly recommend a visit to Burlamacco Cafe and Pizzeria.<\/p>\n

This newly opened eatery welcomes diners with a painting of its namesake, a Burlamacco. Created by futurist painter Uberto Bonetti in 1931, the Burlamacco is a mascot of the town of Viareggio and its Carnival. The town is located in the province of Lucca in Tuscany. Clad in a red-and-white checkered outfit, a pompom on his belly and a red Feluca hat, with his face painted like a clown, the colourful character sets the tone for the cafe. A tiny replica of a Burlamacco sits on the counter with a pizza superimposed on his palm \u2014 reinforcing the restaurant\u2019s theme.<\/p>\n

Burlamacco Cafe and Pizzeria is owned by Mr David Wong. This is his first venture into the F&B business. The genial gentleman was inspired by his son, a chef at Burlamacco\u2019s flagship branch at Stanley Street. Started in 2012 by chef-owner Gabriele Piegaia, Burlamacco Ristorante had its first incarnation on Amoy Street before moving to its current location on Stanley Street. Over the years, it has established a following for its traditional Tuscan cuisine presented with a modern twist. Bathed in earthy tones and ambient lights, the restaurant exudes a stylish, elegant ambience.<\/p>\n

At his branch, Mr Wong has opted to endow the cafe with a cleaner, more minimalist feel while maintaining a sense of continuity and vibrancy with the use of red dining chairs. In line with its location in a residential neighbourhood, the cafe is positioned differently from its fine-dining counterpart in the Central Business District. It exudes a more casual vibe and aims to cater for those on the lookout for a quick yet satisfying meal, with its bento and lunch sets.\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

On the menu is a wide range of pizzas and a smaller selection of pastas, appetisers and mains. \u201cThe cafe serves authentic Italian cuisine,\u201d affirms Mr Wong. The Italian-style pizzas are thin-crust and come in a smorgasbord of mouthwatering flavours, such as Margherita, Ananas, Salciccia, Parma, Salamino, Bismak, Quattro Formaggi, Vegetariana and Porcini.\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"After a lip-smacking meal, there is nothing more satisfying than sipping on an Italian-style coffee, such as espresso, macchiato, caffe latte or cappuccino. At this branch of Burlamacco, you can do it while gazing onto a greenery-filled deck. You\u2019ll be pleased to note that the cafe uses Segafredo coffee beans, probably the most popular brand of coffee in Italy. Founded by Italian coffee merchant Massimo Zanetti, Segafredo is today a leading espresso producer in Italy and across the globe.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, diners may choose to linger over a glass of Italian house-pour while nibbling on the delectable macarons or mini cheesecakes showcased in the display cabinet. Whichever they choose, you are assured of a pleasant experience in a hospitable atmosphere.<\/p>\n
