Always wanted to travel to Central Asia? While you may not be able to journey down The Silk Road for a while, you can get a taste of it via Kafe Samsa. Nestled within Central Asian restaurant The Nomads, Kafe Samsa is named after samsa<\/em>, a savoury pastry commonly found in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. Unsurprisingly, samsas take on a starring role on the menu. The puff pastries come with savoury or sweet fillings. They include Wagyu beef, lamb, and mushrooms and lentils for vegetarians, as well as apple for the sweet-toothed. Besides samsas, the retail section stocks jams, spreads and pantry provisions. In the evening, the cafe metamorphoses into a wine bar, offering an array of wines from Central Asia, spirits and bar snacks.<\/p>\n

If Germany is the country you\u2019d like to visit, make Frieda your next stop. Frieda is named after the daughter of Berthold Kempinski, founder of the Kempinski chain of luxury hotels. Situated on the ground level of Capitol Piazza, the botanical-themed establishment has a few sections. On one side are the Daybar and Frieda Garden. On the other side of the walkway is Frieda restaurant, a cosy dining space that serves hearty, authentic German fare such as wiener schnitzel<\/em>, pork knuckle and pretzel dumplings.<\/p>\n
