Shakilla Shahjihan<\/h3>\n

Divisional Vice President, Government Affairs, Asia Pacific, Abbott Laboratories<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Incumbent Governor<\/b><\/em><\/h4>\n

Shakilla\u00a0Shahjihan\u00a0is\u00a0<\/span>Divisional Vice President, Government Affairs at Abbott<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>for the Asia Pacific region.\u00a0Shakilla\u00a0joined Abbott in December 2013 and has since built a capable team that leads country and regional government affairs strategi<\/span>es<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to joining Abbott, Shakilla was in Monsanto where she held various regional commercial and corporate affairs roles. Shakilla\u2019s prior experiences in Boston Scientific and Merck Sharp and Dohme built her foundation in the healthcare industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shakilla\u00a0currently leads the<\/span>\u00a0Asia Pacific\u00a0<\/span>Women Leaders of Abbott\u00a0<\/span>(WLA)\u00a0<\/span>network<\/span>, having led and successfully launched WLA Singapore to success since 2016. She is a mentor within the Abbott network.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shakilla\u00a0<\/span>is currently Honorary Secretary and Board of Governor at AmCham Singapore (since 2018). She is also\u00a0<\/span>Chair of\u00a0<\/span>the Government Affairs Committee at<\/span>\u00a0APACMED (Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association) and\u00a0<\/span>is an active Management Committee member of\u00a0<\/span>APIYCNA (Asia Pacific Infant and Young Children Nutrition Association).<\/span><\/p>\n

Shakilla\u00a0has been an active participant of AmCham since 2008. She\u00a0<\/span>was heavily involved in bringing\u00a0<\/span>AmCham Women to live<\/span> in Singapore. As Board Governor, she has helped shaped Committees within AmCham Singapore.<\/span><\/p>\n

With her network and experience, Shakilla will be able to provide advocacy, business insights, and connections to AmCham\u2019s members and provide direction to the AmCham committee on the needs of a member.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daphne Au<\/h3>\n

Regional Head of Asia Pacific, Regulatory & Government Affairs, AIG APAC Holdings<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

Incumbent<\/i><\/b>\u00a0Governor<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Daphne Au heads AIG\u2019s Regulatory and Government Affairs function for the Asia Pacific region. In her role, she devotes her attention on advancing sustainable relationships with regulators and government officials, as well as leading several strategic initiatives alongside CEOs to drive thought leadership in the insurance industry.<\/p>\n

Based in Singapore, Daphne is actively involved in AmCham-Singapore\u2019s initiatives. She supports 3 AmCham Committees as a board representative and championed AIG\u2019s participation in AAP Business Summit, AmCham-CARE and Future-Leaders programs.<\/p>\n

Daphne began her professional career in Malaysia as an advocate and solicitor specializing in corporate and employment disputes. Subsequently she moved to Dubai to join a law firm focusing on intellectual property enforcement actions, before joining AIG as General Counsel for the Middle East-and-North Africa region.<\/p>\n

While pursuing her legal profession practicing license, Daphne was teaching at the law faculty of University-of-London under the Bachelor-of-Laws (LL.B) program.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Di is the HR Director at Baxter Healthcare Asia. She has extensive experiences in Healthcare and Consulting industries across Asia Pacific. She is a commercial minded, result-driven & strategic HR leader, specialized in HR strategy, organizational design, large-scale change management and HR digital transformation.<\/p>\n

Jennifer has a broad international experience and clear achievements in multiple geographies with a strong track record of working closely with talented teams to grow business results. Her extraordinary work supported Baxter to be recognized as the \u201cBest Employer\u201d in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.<\/p>\n

In her recent role as the Co-Chair of Human Capital Committee, she actively contributed her thought leadership in guiding committee\u2019s focus areas in 2021. Her valuable input was also seen in the POV Paper as well as AAP Summit. Her passion is to create value for organizations, enable people\u2019s purpose and unleash their best potential in work and lives.<\/p>\n

As Chief Marketing Officer of Google APAC, Simon Kahn oversees marketing for all of Google\u2019s consumer and business solutions across 16 markets in APAC and leads Google\u2019s Next Billion Users & Payments product marketing globally. His team covers everything from research and insights development to brand management and advertising. Through strategic initiatives and go-to-market activations, they accelerate revenue growth and move user metrics to deliver on business goals. They have helped transform APAC into one of Google\u2019s fastest growing regions and have become a significant contributor to the company\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

As LinkedIn\u2019s Head of Marketing Solutions, Assaf Tarnopolsky leads LinkedIn\u2019s advertising business in Asia, with a focus on Singapore, South East Asia, Japan and Korea.\u202f He has been a member of the Marketing Solutions leadership team since arriving in Singapore eight years ago.\u202f He spends his days advising clients on digital strategy and leading teams that help B2B marketers grow their businesses in Asia and around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Assaf has been an enthusiastic participant of the Balestier series events with SG government ministers and counts many of LinkedIn\u2019s clients among the connections he has made while attending AmCham events.\u202f\u202f Assaf looks forward to working with the functional and sectoral committees to help elevate programming and networking opportunities among AmCham member companies.\u202f The TMT, MarComm and Human Capital\u202f committees are obvious areas of affinity between LinkedIn and AmCham and, as a natural bridge-builder, Assaf will help connect the dots and drive engagement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Maurizio Brusadelli<\/h3>\n

EVP & President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Mondel\u0113z International<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

Maurizio Brusadelli is EVP & President Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) for Mondel\u0113z International. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for more than 70markets in the region. He is also a member of Mondel\u0113z International\u2019s global management team.<\/p>\n

Maurizio joined Kraft Foods in 1993 in Italy in the Marketing department and subsequently moved into Sales and Trade Marketing. He assumed Marketing responsibility for the Italian division in 2002 and became Category Director, Philadelphia Europe in 2006. Maurizio moved to Spain in 2009 as VP & Managing Director of Kraft Foods Iberia. He went on to lead the Gum & Candy category in Europe and was appointed President of the UK, Ireland& Nordics operations in 2012.<\/p>\n

He relocated to Singapore in 2014, to take on the role of President of Markets & Sales and Biscuits and was appointed to his current role in 2016.<\/p>\n

Maurizio is President, Food Industry Asia (FIA), that leads the agenda and supports the food and beverage industry on a variety of issues in the region.<\/p>\n

Maurizio holds a degree in Business and Economics from Bocconi University, Milan and is a Chartered Accountant. Having lived and worked in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, the UK and Singapore, he is fluent in Italian, English and Spanish.<\/p>\n

Steven has more than 20 years of combined government and industry experience in international trade and public policy. Based in Singapore, he leads and manages teams of public policy and government affairs experts to provide advocacy, policy and regulatory support for PayPal\u2019s core products and services across 15 markets in Asia. In this capacity, Steven oversees all industry engagements including membership, outreach and participation in AmChams. He has actively participated in AmCham Singapore\u2019s signature events such as the City Hall Dialogues and Balestier Series, and moderated committee discussions. He has also strengthened PayPal\u2019s involvement in AmCham Singapore through increased sponsorships and PayPal was one of the early supporters of the SME Accelerator Program. Anupama (\u2018Anu\u2019) Puranik is a Managing Director and Partner at Russell Reynolds Associates, a global Executive Search and Leadership Advisory Firm leading their healthcare practice for SE Asia. She has been in executive search and leadership advisory for around 15 years and handled equities in India prior to that. She served as Board Member at Access Health International, Singapore for three years and continues to serve as an advisor.<\/p>\n

She has been an active AmCham member for over a decade and the co-Chair of the Human Capital Committee since May 2019. She has volunteered on several AmCham events on key Human Capital issues, represented AmCham during the annual manpower survey discussions with MoM and most recently, as the MC at the AAP Summit 2021. Boon Poh Mok<\/h3>\n

Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy, Southeast Asia and Greater China, Salesforce<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

Boon leads Salesforce’s Government Affairs and Public Policy functions for Southeast Asia and Greater China. He has successfully hosted four Ministerial visits to Salesforce over the past 2 years and secured a S$1m COVID-19 Relief Fund for troubled SMEs in Singapore.<\/p>\n

As a Singapore Diplomat in early 2000s, Boon pioneered the start-up of the ICT Diplomatic Office in China. He had earlier spearheaded government engagement and public policy advocacy efforts for organizations such as Juniper, BSA, Nokia and Motorola.<\/p>\n

A member of the AmCham Government and Regional Affairs Committee, Boon enjoys interacting with members, and is an active participant of many AmCham events such as the Balestier Series, the City Hall Dialogues, etc.<\/p>\n

In the early 1990s, Boon earned a Bachelor of Engineering with honor from Loughborough University and an MBA from Warwick Business School. Presently, he is an active community volunteer, taking rock drumming lessons, and enjoys traveling and photography.<\/p>\n

          I had an amazing summer 2018 internship at AmCham. As a Government and Public Affairs & Social Media Intern, I had an incredible opportunity to manage social media accounts for AmCham. I truly enjoyed the level of responsibility that was put before me, and I felt like I was a team member at AmCham, contributing to its success every day. During my time at AmCham, I improved my ability to write social media posts clearly and concisely, obtained skills of graphic design, as well as learned to take professional photos during events.           Interning at the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore has been an eye-opening experience. Being able to work at a nonprofit that does such important work for the American business community has helped me learn about business in Southeast Asia, and connect with the leading business minds in the region. From developing new programs for AmCham to attending fascinating talks about marketing and GDPR, I haven\u2019t stop learning. <\/i><\/p>\n

          The most rewarding aspect of interning at AmCham was the networking that I was able to do. This internship gave me the opportunity to meet with consultants and people working in finance, and helped cement my interest in both sectors. As I begin my job search for my sophomore summer internship, I am sure that I will be able to stay in contact with the professionals that I have connected with over the past two months. As someone fascinated by the world of consulting, AmCham made an impressive effort to connect me with people working in that sector. My supervisor organized a networking lunch with a consultant from Bain&Co, encouraged me to sit in on business meetings with consultants, and organized small group discussion sessions to learn about consulting. Through these meetings, I was able to garner a real understanding of each of the different firms\u2019 cultures and practices, which will prove to be invaluable during my job search.<\/i><\/p>\n

Having toured half a dozen Singapore based corporations, engaging in networking events, and attending weekly speaking events, I\u2019ve developed a global perspective in understanding how policy, innovation, and regulations are jointly affecting multinational firms and how they are actively evolving their business strategies to adapt to these structural economic changes. <\/i><\/p>\n

          I\u2019ve been exposed to various business models in a wide array of market sectors which has given me a first-hand perspective on how business is conducted on a global scale. In addition, to gaining a global perspective, I\u2019ve also had the opportunity to apply my analytical skills to individually spearhead a comprehensive elasticity project, analyzing industry competition, researching economic indicators, and constructing complex financial models in efforts to optimally restructure current pricing systems. Having access to meet and hear from US congressmen, C-Suite executives, and some of the world\u2019s leading visionaries, was an incredible learning experience which has both defined my familiarity with the APAC region and opened various avenues to position myself for future career opportunities.<\/i><\/p>\n

          My internship at AmCham was a truly fantastic and fascinating experience. I was excited to be placed within the Government and Public Affairs team under the excellent supervision of Hazlyn and Morgan. The opportunity to work on multiple high-level publications provided me with great insight into AmCham Singapore\u2019s work and the work of Chambers throughout the region. I was also able to greatly develop my research, writing and analytical skills as I worked through meaningful and challenging projects. <\/i><\/p>\n

          My experience working as a Government and Public Affairs Intern at AmCham was one of the most fulfilling experiences I\u2019ve had both professionally and personally. Entrusted with important tasks such as drafting the ASEAN Business Outlook Survey, I was able to develop\u00a0 and build confidence in my writing skills while gaining insights about the economic and political landscape of ASEAN. <\/em><\/p>\n

          This professional experience was further enhanced by the vibrant office community of staff and interns. Every day was busy yet enjoyable, and I met many friends and colleagues that I continue to keep in touch with. For anyone who has an interest in the ASEAN region that\u2019s looking for professional development and a meaningful experience, I definitely recommend interning at AmCham.<\/em><\/p>\n

          I truly had a wonderful experience as a Business Development intern at AmCham. The work I undertook as an intern was very rewarding as I had the chance to work on multiple projects and dive deep into working on and learning more about specific areas. My supervisor, Kelli was really great about checking in and making sure that not only was my work meeting AmCham\u2019s high standards, but that I was also enjoying the internship and developing my personal and professional skills. It was also clear that my ideas and suggestions were being taken seriously by the team throughout my time there. <\/i><\/p>\n

          At the end of my internship, I had the opportunity to present my work, which was a great chance to work on my public speaking in a work setting. Working at AmCham gives you access to a range of events and I had the opportunity to hear more about the region and business from people who are at the forefront in their fields. On a more personal note, the whole team is made up of wonderful people and the atmosphere at the office is one of friendly collaboration which made it even better by my co-interns at the time. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity and hope that I will have the chance to visit AmCham again in the future.<\/i><\/p>\n

          It has been a privilege to work alongside colleagues with the collective pride of providing the vital link between local government agencies and the American business community. The weeks I spent as a summer intern with AmCham have certainly been fulfilling as a programming intern. <\/i><\/p>\n

          This was due to the fact that we were privy to Signature events that cover current issues and set the tone as a forerunner on future trends. Of course, I have been lucky to be under the tutelage of warm mentors and company of kind colleagues. It was fun being able to experience American culture first hand at home and I would recommend this internship to those looking to broaden perspectives on the international community with a business take.<\/i><\/p>\n
