本坡道南学校，自创办迄今，已届23周年，过去历史，颇为社会人士所注目，又经去年收归福建会馆改组后，努力合作，学务发展，大有蒸蒸日上之势，昨为该校举行23周年纪念，并恳亲大会，校门外高张白布横书《廿三周年纪念，大会》，颇壮观瞻，礼堂门前，悬党国旗，上有生花缀成之匾额一方，《恳亲大会》四字，会场设在礼堂，壁间满贴标语，钟鸣两下，宣布开会，奏乐行礼后，首由该校校长郑玄珠致开会词，继有教育科主任林庆年，委员庄丕唐，暨教职员学生等演说，最后余兴，有短剧及歌舞种种，其中以科学表演一幕，系学生平日化学科之实验，颇能引起儿童研究科学兴味，散会后，已6点多钟。
