Characteristics of Cotton Fabrics<\/strong><\/h2>Cotton fabrics are made from natural fibres and is most commonly used in clothing manufacturing. Over decades, cotton has been widely known for its all-natural advantages. The texture of cotton is soft and comfortable, therefore when worn as clothing it does not irritate the skin. For those who have sensitive skin, cotton makes a perfect choice of\u00a0clothing material<\/a>because of its all-natural, hypoallergenic properties.Cotton fabrics are highly breathable and encourages proper air circulation, making it difficult for bacteria and fungi to grow even in dark and moist environments. This material is highly absorbent and thus when worn in humid weathers, it absorbs sweat and any form of moisture very quickly. The downside of cotton fabrics is that although it absorbs moisture very quickly, it takes a significant amount of time to dry.When washing any cotton-made material, we should be extra cautious as\u00a0cotton has low elasticity and can shrink easily<\/a>\u00a0when washed. Clothes made from cotton material are also more prone to damage as it is made from natural fibres. Colours tend to fade easily if washed too often. Therefore, any outfit made from this material must be handled with special care.Over the years, fabric and textile experts have been conducting studies and experiments to find the perfect blend of fabric that has similar aspects to cotton with the aim of augmenting its advantages. A blend of cotton and polyester was developed to improve the material quality of cotton clothing. Experts found that cotton, when blended with polyester not only increases absorbency but also quickens the drying process.When a garment is worn, one side absorbs any form of moisture and the moisture is transferred to the outer part of the garment where it can easily evaporate. This material is highly suitable for high perspiration and humid weather where the wearer is able to maintain a cool body temperature regardless of weather conditions.Cotton materials are highly preferred when it comes to comfortable wear.
