There are four types of dengue viruses, and individuals who have had dengue fever before can be infected again.<\/p><p>Dengue fever typically causes fever, rashes, headache, body aches and symptoms of bleeding (such as bruising, gum bleeding and nose bleeding). In severe cases, patients may have persistent vomiting, fluid accumulation in their lungs or abdomen, more severe bleeding and even organ failure.<\/p><p>During a second episode of dengue fever, there is a higher risk of developing severe symptoms.
