Also located within Changi is Singapore’s largest prison,\u00a0Changi Prison. Changi Prison continues to be Singapore’s oldest operating internment facility, in the form of the new\u00a0Changi Prison Complex.<\/p>\n

Changi\u00a0is a planning area located in the region of\u00a0of Tanah Merah\u00a0in the\u00a0East Region of Singapore. Sharing borders with Pasir Ris and Tampines to the west, Changi Bay to the southeast, the South China\u00a0Sea\u00a0to the east\u00a0and also the\u00a0Serangoon Harbour to the north. Changi, excluding\u00a0the two water catchments and islands of Singapore,\u00a0is that the\u00a0largest\u00a0planning area by land size.
\nToday, Changi is an aviation hub. It is the current location of both the\u00a0Changi Airport\u00a0and\u00a0Changi Air Base.
