How to get health benefits from a Coke

Most of us have a favourite soft drink – Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale – whatever. While we may find them irresistible, our concerns about health may somewhat dampened the enjoyment.

But what if we could actually get health benefits from a Coke? What a difference that would make! Well, now we can – by turning it into a probiotic drink.

We all know the important role probiotic microbes play in gut health. And, in turn, gut health is a key factor in our overall health. A healthy digestive system helps prevent infection from viruses, bacteria and fungi; allows us to get the nutritional benefits from our food; and communicates with the rest of our body to sustain general health.

The good news

Probiotics come in many forms, some easier to take and more affordable than others, but the good news is that now probiotics come in ice cubes – perhaps the easiest and most affordable way of all for getting probiotics. And even more remarkably, this new way of delivering probiotic microbes (in ice) is a Singapore innovation. Yes, we’re the first in the world to have probiotic ice. In fact, probiotic ice was developed through a collaboration between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore’s leading ice supplier, Iceman.

And the benefits of probiotics in ice go beyond price and convenience: freezing preserves probiotic microbes much longer than simple refrigeration, which means the power of the probiotics will not deteriorate nearly as fast as those in, say, kombucha kept in the fridge.

The Simple Choice is Probiotic Ice

So easy

We all know how to use the familiar ice cube. Just remove a cube from the IceMan Probiotic Ice tray, pop it into a glass, and pour your favourite beverage over it (hint: pouring over the ice optimises the probiotic diffusion).

Now you’re ready to enjoy a soft drink you can really feel good about.

IceMan Probiotic Ice can be found in selected FairPrice Finest stores as well as Polarmart. For a list of outlets, check out https://glutenfreepleasure.com/__proxy_domain/iceman.com.sg/products/probiotic-ice/
