FIVE TURN DOUBLE OFFSET<\/strong><\/p>

The basic coil design used widely in the market in 1969 <\/span>was the bonnell coil, an hourglass-shaped coil with a <\/span>round head and foot and (usually) five turns. The coil was <\/span>knotted at the head and foot to provide stability.<\/span><\/p>

In 1969, Sealy developed and introduced the \u201cDouble <\/span>Offset\u201d coil. By offsetting or flattening the sides of the <\/span>coil head, two benefits were derived. Coils could be <\/span>positioned more closely, giving more points of support, <\/span>and a smoother hinging action between coils was made <\/span>possible, providing smoother conformance to the body <\/span>and resulting in more restful sleep.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

SIX TURN TRIPLE OFFSET<\/strong><\/p>

Sealy further developed the offset coil design by adding <\/span>an extra turn to provide more working wire for durability <\/span>while offering a more responsive, conforming coil.<\/span><\/p>

SEVEN TURN TRIPLE OFFSET<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

This coil took the benefits of the six turn triple offset <\/span>coil and further enhanced durability and conformance <\/span>through the addition of a seventh turn.<\/span><\/p>

Seven turns meant an even more responsive and durable <\/span>coil. POSTURETECH<\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

The PostureTech<\/span>\u00ae<\/span> coil heralded a completely new approach <\/span>to engineered support.<\/span><\/p>

The core performance characteristic of this design <\/span>was its ability to \u201cSense and Respond\u201d better than its <\/span>predecessors. DUAL SUPPORT SYSTEM<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

In 2001, Sealy introduced the most revolutionary coil in the industry <\/span>with its Crown Jewel Posturepedic\u00ae<\/span> range. This coil\u2019s <\/span>design comprised two parts.<\/span><\/p>

The head and foot of the coil were designed to <\/span>micro-conform to the shape of the body at rest. This was <\/span>called the SynerFlex Surface and provided a transition <\/span>from conformance to support unrivalled in the industry.<\/span><\/p>

Sealy\u2019s first truly one-sided coil, the SRx<\/span>\u00ae<\/span> was designed <\/span>with a helix angle that gradually changes from steep at <\/span>the base of the coil, to flatter closer to the surface. This coil was a further development of the one-sided coil principle <\/span>designed specifically for single-sided mattresses. Comprising three <\/span>phases, it provides a seamless transition from the comfort layers to <\/span>the deep down Posturepedic<\/span>\u00ae <\/span>support.<\/span><\/p>
