This can be further used to synthesise Glutathione, an antioxidant. Efforts have enabled a stabilised form of a cysteamine whitening cream with reduced odour.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Which pigmentary disorders has the Cysteamine Whitening Cream been shown to be effective?<\/h2>\r\n<p>The cysteamine whitening cream has been shown to be effective for:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Melasma, particularly epidermal melasma<\/li>\r\n<li>Lentigines (sun spots)<\/li>\r\n<li>Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation<\/li>\r\n<li>Lighten skin colour overall<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>How does it compare with other depigmenting creams?<\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"zw-paragraph heading0\" data-header=\"0\" data-textformat=\"{&quot;fgc&quot;:&quot;rgb(51, 51, 51)&quot;,&quot;size&quot;:&quot;12.00&quot;,&quot;type&quot;:&quot;text&quot;}\" data-margin-bottom=\"15pt\" data-hd-info=\"0\" data-line-height=\"1.2\" data-doc-id=\"1733345000008150035\" data-doc-type=\"writer\">Clinical studies have shown Cysteamine Cream to be superior to traditional depigmenting creams in treating melasma.<\/p>\r\n<p>It is also safer and gentler on human skin due to the fact that it is naturally occurring in human skin cells, and does not have carcinogenic (cancer-causing) potential in long-term use.<\/p>\r\n<h2>How should the Cysteamine Whitening Cream be used?<\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"zw-paragraph heading0\" data-header=\"0\" data-textformat=\"{&quot;fgc&quot;:&quot;rgb(51, 51, 51)&quot;,&quot;size&quot;:&quot;12.00&quot;,&quot;type&quot;:&quot;text&quot;}\" data-margin-bottom=\"15pt\" data-hd-info=\"0\" data-line-height=\"1.2\" data-doc-id=\"1733345000008150035\" data-doc-type=\"writer\">Cysteamine Cream can be applied any time of the year regardless of sun exposure and is suitable for all skin tones.<\/p>\r\n<p>The cream is applied to the desired areas with pigmentation once daily and is washed off after 15 minutes using mild soap and water. After drying the skin, a moisturizer is applied.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Other tips on applying Cysteamine<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Cysteamine Cream should be applied once a day on rested, calm skin (evening or morning before a\u00a0shower) to reduce skin irritation<\/li>\r\n<li>Exposure time can be gradually increased after 6 weeks if there are no signs of skin irritation such as redness or dryness<\/li>\r\n<li>Sunscreen should still be continued daily<\/li>\r\n<li>To maintain its effects, cysteamine cream should be continued at least twice a week indefinitely<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>How soon should I expect to see results?<\/h2>\r\n<p>A reduction in pigmentation is seen after 6 weeks.
