It depends on the investors. Even a small share would be enough,\u201d he told reporters after officiating the foundation-laying and exchange-of-agreements ceremony for the Sarawak Bioindustrial Park (SBP) here.\n\nEarlier in his speech, Abang Johari said Fortune Business Insights projected the global biotechnology market to grow from US$1.5 trillion in 2026 to US$4.3 trillion by 2034.\n\n\u201cIn other words, there is ample space for us to contribute to the growth of biotechnology,\u201d he said.<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8cddf78 elementor-widget elementor-widget-wdt-heading\" data-id=\"8cddf78\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;wdt_animation_effect&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"wdt-heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wdt-heading-holder \" id=\"wdt-heading-8cddf78\"><div class=\"wdt-heading-content-wrapper\">He said Sarawak had a strong foundation for entering the sector, given its extensive biodiversity and the research capabilities of the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC).<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-24b9d52 elementor-widget elementor-widget-wdt-heading\" data-id=\"24b9d52\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;wdt_animation_effect&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"wdt-heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wdt-heading-holder \" id=\"wdt-heading-24b9d52\"><div class=\"wdt-heading-content-wrapper\">\u201cSarawak is a big state with extensive forests and abundant resources, so we should make better use of them. That is why we initiated the Bioindustrial Park,\u201d he said.\n\nAbang Johari said the SBP would serve as an extension of the SBC, providing a platform for research findings to be translated into commercial products for international markets.<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-243f74f elementor-widget elementor-widget-wdt-heading\" data-id=\"243f74f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;wdt_animation_effect&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"wdt-heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wdt-heading-holder \" id=\"wdt-heading-243f74f\"><div class=\"wdt-heading-content-wrapper\">\u201cResearch can be carried out at the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, and the outcomes must then be applied to industrial products,\u201d he said.\n\nHe said Sarawak\u2019s biodiversity could be explored for products in areas including healthcare, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, with scientific research and technology used to identify and extract useful compounds from plants.\n\n\u201cWe have a vast reservoir of biodiversity resources.
