SARAWAK TOURISM BOARD LAUNCHES \u201cLOOK, SEE\u2026 CHIAK, MAKAN\u201d TRAVEL CAMPAIGN FOR SINGAPOREAN FOODIES AT ITB ASIA 2022<\/span><\/div>
Singapore 20th October 2022 - Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) today officially launches its latest tourism campaign, \u201cSARAWAK Look, See\u2026 Chiak, Makan\u201d targeted at attracting Singaporeans to experience Sarawak\u2019s diverse food culture at a ceremony held during ITB Asia 2022 at Sands Expo & Convention in Singapore.<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The campaign, which ends on 15th December 2022, is a collaborative effort between Sarawak Tourism Board and participating tour operators to build awareness about Sarawak\u2019s tourism products and destinations to Singaporeans and to highlight its diverse gastronomy that is one of Sarawak five tourism pillars, Culture, Adventure, Nature, Food and Festivals (CANFF).\n\n<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak YB Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said people are making up for lost time and holidays after the easing of travel restrictions and these revenge travellers are just eager and itching to travel.<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cThe launching of the \u2018Sarawak Look See\u2026 Chiak Makan\u2019 campaign comes in timely to attract Singaporeans who we know have a soft spot for gastronomy delights and are looking for a quick but memorable getaway. We hope that they will enjoy exploring Kuching, Malaysia\u2019s first UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy as well as Sarawak\u2019s other destinations like Miri city,\u201d he said.<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Throughout this campaign, participating tour operators will bring their Singaporean package buyers to any restaurant or hawker stalls and to include the Sarawak Laksa or Kolok Mee eatery outlets in the tour packages.<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

YB Abdul Karim also stated that there has been a strong arrival of Singaporean visitors to Sarawak with Singapore ranking 3rd in the charts with 16,819 visitors from March till September ever since the resumption of direct flights from Singapore to Sarawak in February 2022.<\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
