What is CHAS?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) enables Singapore Citizens from lower-and middle-income households to receive medical and dental care subsidies only at participating General Practitioners (GPs) and dental clinics near their homes.<\/p>\n

Singapore Citizens who qualify for CHAS will receive an individual blue or orange Health Assist card. Health Assist cardholders will also enjoy subsidized referrals to Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOCs) located at Public Hospitals or National Dental Centre when required.<\/p>\n

Eligibility for CHAS:<\/p>\n

From 1 January 2014, all Singapore Citizens (regardless of age) who meet the household monthly income per person of $1,800 and below can qualify for CHAS. For instance, a family of four living at the same address with a total gross household monthly income of $7,200 (household monthly income per person is $7,200 \u00f7 4 = $1,800) will qualify for CHAS, if they are all Singapore Citizens.<\/p>\n

What is the Merdeka Generation Package?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Merdeka Generation is born between 1950 and 1959, who gew up during 1950s and early 1960s.Together with the Pioneer Generation, they have contributed greatly to Singapore during a time of struggle, hardship, and sacrifice.<\/p>\n

Eligibility for Merdeka Generation Package:
\n\u2022 Were born from 1 January 1950 to 31 December 1959; and
\n\u2022 Became a Singapore citizen on or before 31 December 1996.
\nIt is also given to seniors who:
\n\u2022 Were born on or before 31 December 1949; and
\n\u2022 Became Singapore citizens on or before 31 December 1996; and
\n\u2022 Do not receive the Pioneer Generation Package.<\/p>\n

What is the Pioneer Generation Package?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

It is offered by the government to honour and recognise our pioneers who have sacrificed and dedicated their life to Singapore.<\/p>\n

Eligibility for Pioneer Generation Package:<\/p>\n

Living Singapore Citizens who meet 2 criteria:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Aged 16 and above in 1965 \u2013 this means: Born on or before 31 December 1949<\/li>\n
  2. Aged 65 and above in 2014 and Obtained citizenship on or before 31 December 1986.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Those eligible for the Pioneer Generation Package would have received a notification letter in June 2014 and Pioneer Generation Card by September 2014. If you have not received your card and would like to check your eligibility, you can do a self-check in this website (https:\/\/www.pioneers.gov.sg\/en-sg\/Pages\/Home.aspx), or call the Pioneer Generation hotline at 1800-2222-888.<\/p>\n

    Pioneers are reminded to bring along their Pioneer Generation card, and NRIC when visiting a clinic.<\/p>\n
