Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP) – Provides Recommendations for Employers<\/h2>\n

\"TripartiteSingapore thrives as one of the important economy powerhouses in Asia with its diverse workforce in terms of ethnicity, religion, age, and gender. As a meritocratic society, Singapore\u2019s workplace needs a fair and merit-based employment practices<\/a>. Formed by the tripartite partners, namely National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), Ministry of Manpower<\/a> (MOM) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP) and advisories are the competitive advantages to the employment setting in Singapore that provides frameworks, benchmarks and recommendations for employers.<\/p>\n

The Tripartite Standards<\/a>, as the name suggests, refer to a new tripartite initiative to cultivate the adoption of fair and progressive workplace practices in Singapore. Each Tripartite Standard sets out a set of actionable employment practices in a specific area of employment and fills the gap between employment laws and Tripartite Guidelines and Tripartite Advisories. While the adoption of the Tripartite Standards voluntary, Singaporean employers who chose to adopt them will be able to stand out as the employers of choice, cementing their position and strength to attract and retain talent.<\/p>\n

The Core Principles of Fair Employment Practices<\/h3>\n

The core principles of Fair Employment Practices as set out in the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP) include the following:<\/p>\n

  2. Fair treatment to employees via progressive human resource management systems;<\/li>\n
