Company seals were predominantly used by companies in common law jurisdictions, although in modern times, most countries have done away with the use of seals.
\nIn jurisdictions such as Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, the United Kingdom and some US states, a company seal may still carry legal force. Documents that traditionally require sealing include share certificates, loan documents, leases and board minutes.<\/p>\n
Under the Companies Act 1967 and the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2005, with effect from 31 March 2017, Singapore companies and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) are no longer required to use the common seal in the execution of documents as a deed, or other documents such as share certificates.
