Streamlining information across relevant government records in Singapore is going to be easier with the data alignment exercise initiative. <\/p>\n
Under the National Registration Act, position holders who have their information filed with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)<\/a> must have this data aligned with the data filed with the related government agencies. This new data alignment requirement commences from 2 December 2019.<\/p>\n Since ACRA has more than 1 million records currently in its database, the data alignment exercise is expected to only be finalised sometime in June 2020. With this new initiative, ACRA\u2019s position holders won\u2019t have to manually update any changes in their personal particulars in ACRA\u2019s system. The relevant changes will automatically be reflected per the National Registration Act. The information will be synced automatically updated in ACRA\u2019s database. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you\u2019re a position holder with ACRA and you\u2019re a local in Singapore, you don\u2019t need to do anything on your part. Your residential address and name that is lodged in ACRA\u2019s records will be updated automatically to reflect the name and address stated in your NRIC\/FIN. The automatic update will take place if the name and address registered with ACRA differs from the one registered with government agencies relevant to the National Registration Act<\/a>.<\/p>\nWhat is Required by Position Holders?<\/h3>\n
