Study on Working with Freelance Media Professionals – Conducted by SAMPP<\/h2>\n

\"Study3E Accounting participated in a study conducted by the Singapore Association of Motion Picture Professionals (SAMPP) and supported by the Info-communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) to develop a code of conduct for Freelance Media Professionals in Singapore.<\/p>\n

Part of this study involved a Community Discussion for Companies Working with Media Freelancers which was hosted at Objectifs, an independent non-profit visual arts space that aims to cultivate original voices in visual storytelling, and to inspire and broaden perspectives through the power of images.<\/p>\n

As adopter of all Eight TAFEP Tripartite Standards<\/a>, and being among the pioneer batch of Human Capital Partners (HCPs)<\/a> since 2017, 3E Accounting is passionate about supporting our local workforce and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). Being a home-grown SME ourselves, we recognised the many challenges facing small businesses and start-ups, and actively contributed our experience working with freelance media professionals to the Community Discussion.<\/p>\n

Understand the Community About the Current State of the Media Industry<\/h3>\n

\"StudyRepresentatives from NTUC U SME, a Labour Movement initiative to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) business leaders and human resources practitioners to address critical issues and challenges, SAMPP President and Executive Director, Association of Independent Producers (Singapore), or AIPRO, an accredited professional body representing the interests of all organisations from Singapore\u2019s independent media production industry, also came together to contribute ideas to the discussion.<\/p>\n

SAMPP will be running more group sessions on current and proposed practices for hiring and working with freelance media professionals. The purpose of these sessions are to hear from the community about the current state of the media industry and existing common practices, draw out areas of concern or issues that both freelancers and companies that engage freelancers commonly face, so that together, everyone can collectively work towards solutions that will benefit all parties in the long run. The ultimate objective is to create an online resource portal with a guideline on best practices as well as a code of conduct, and to provide useful information such as guides for new entrants, links to training programmes and other educational resources.<\/p>\n

3E Accounting\u2019s participation in the study demonstrate our commitment to supporting the local workforce and to building up best practices and standards of professionalism in the industry, to help in the growth and development of the media ecosystem.<\/p>\n
