This low humidity can have a negative effect on your health as it can cause health complication such as a dry skin, flu and colds among other infections. Low humidity may also cause damage to your eyes. It is therefore important to increase the level of humidity in an aircon room. Here are six ways to do so.
Use of room humidifiers.

This is the simplest way of increasing humidity in your room.<\/strong>
\u00a0However, in addition to costing you extra money and space, humidifiers are also associated with some health risks. A humidifier can raise the humidity levels very high, favouring the growth of molds that can be responsible for a number of diseases. This high humidity can also lead to respiratory diseases including asthma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure a room with humidifiers does not become very moist, it is advisable to install a hygrometer that can be adjusted to maintain the humidity levels safe. Some humidifiers have hygrometers built in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The humidifier also needs to be cleaned often with hydrogen peroxide to prevent a layer of mineral from forming around it. The water in the reservoir should also be changed daily.\u00a0

Use of plants<\/strong>
This is the most effective way of increasing the humidity in an aircon room. Plants, just like humans, usually \u201csweat\u201d. Most of the water that a plant absorbs through its roots is lost as water vapor through the leaves through a process known as transpiration. Plants are therefore a natural way of increasing the humidity of a room.

In addition, soil in the pots used to grow house plants helps in retaining moisture in the environment<\/strong>

Keeping water in open containers<\/strong>
Most people use this technique in their aircon rooms. Water usually evaporates hence increasing humidity in the room. Always ensure you place an open bucket full of water in the room. However, ensure you don\u2019t place the container near electrical devices, especially if there are children and pets in the room. Change the water in the container after every two days to prevent insects from breeding in the water.

You can also choose to place open bowls around the house for increased humidity<\/strong>

Boil water on a stove\/heater<\/strong>
Heating water will increase humidity in an aircon room as water will evaporate. If your room is small in size, the vapor may circulate naturally throughout the entire room. However, if the room is large, the aircon may help in circulating the vapor by placing it on low\u2019.

Hanging or Lining wet clothes indoors<\/strong>
Even a small amount of moisture is important, even if it comes from hanging wet clothes and towels for drying in your room. This is even more helpful if your room is small in size.
