to increase awareness of the disease.<\/p>\n<p>Health Facts:<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Breast cancer accounts for 3 in 10 cancer cases for women<\/li>\n<li>The most common cancers among women in the world<\/li>\n<li>Number 1 cancer death among Singapore women<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Symptoms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lumps that can be felt<\/li>\n<li>Rashes or crusting<\/li>\n<li>Nipple discharge<\/li>\n<li>Skin irritation or dimpling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Detection:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Breast cancer is usually detected through mammogram or breast ultrasound.<\/p>\n<p>Women who need further testing for a breast lump may be sent for an ultrasound and it is use for the following reason:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determines if the lump is solid or is a cyst.<\/li>\n<li>Assess the cause of breast symptoms such as lump, swelling, breast pain.<\/li>\n<li>Provides additional information to other test such as a mammogram or breast MRI.<\/li>\n<li>Helps guide the placement of needles for
