[SINGAPORE] The Law Society of Singapore will be asking for Workers’ Party (WP) chief Pritam Singh to be struck off the rolls when his disciplinary case is heard on Aug 13, according to a summary of upcoming court fixtures.

The hearing list on the Singapore Courts website shows that the proceedings will be heard by the Court of Three Judges

A group of unhappy cadres had earlier failed to force his resignation

The party has roughly 100 cadres, which form its inner circle and elect its leadership

[SINGAPORE] A disciplinary panel looking into whether Workers’ Party (WP) chief Pritam Singh had breached the party’s constitution after his conviction for lying to Parliament’s Committee of Privileges (COP), has completed its investigations.

He was found guilty on two charges of lying to a Parliamentary Committee of Privileges last year

The nature of the case is stated as “disciplinary proceedings for advocates and solicitors of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Singapore”

He says publicly reporting outcomes would strengthen transparency and enable MPs to better scrutinise government spending
