Occasionally, a protruding cartilage or bony structure may also make the nose appear crooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a Flat Nose?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike our Caucasian friends, most Asian noses tend to be flatter at the nose bridge and nose tip. This is because we have different facial bone structures and different extents and amounts of nose cartilage. As a result of flat nose bridges, our eyes also look further than each other. Aesthetically, widely separated eyes are less attractive. Flat nose bridges are common in Asian faces which is why flat nose augmentation is such a popular and common aesthetic treatment in Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a Hooked Nose?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A hooked nose occurs when there is excessive curved bone at the nose bridge and inadequate and the nose tip pointing downwards (and no nostril show). Hooked noses are more commonly found in Caucasians and Indians. Hooked noses can be easily corrected by adding nose threads to the nose tip to rotate the nose tip upwards. Nose fillers are sometimes also known as \u201cliquid rhinoplasty\u201d or the \u201cliquid nose job\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, the goal of a nose filler is to alter the shape of the nose bridge, nose tip or nostrils. A smaller, crisper nose tip and a higher nose bridge are generally favourable results for nose fillers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nose fillers V.S Surgical procedures<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are many reasons why a patient might opt for nose fillers instead of a full-on rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasties are far harder to reverse and puts the patient out of action for a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The effects of nose fillers are much more subtle when compared to the drastic change brought by rhinoplasties. Hyaluronic acid, otherwise known as glycosaminoglycan polysaccharide, is a naturally occurring substance that can be found in our bodies. This usually takes around 10-15 minutes for the area to be fully numbed before the treatment commences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A doctor will then use a syringe and needle on specific areas of the nose in order to alter its shape and create a more appealing look. The actual procedure takes only a short time of around 15 to 20 minutes. After the application of the topical numbing cream, you should not feel too much discomfort and the procedure has been described as tolerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For nose fillers, there isn\u2019t any immediate downtime after the procedure and patients can expect to return to action with about an hour\u2019s rest. Some patients report feeling some mild discomfort and sometimes post-operative bruising and swelling are expected.
