In fact, this home appliance accounts for up to 25% of an average Singaporean home\u2019s electricity usage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why it is important for you to get a highly energy-efficient air conditioner. Besides helping soften the blow to your monthly utility bill, such an air conditioner also allows you to do your part to make the Earth a greener place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking for an eco-friendly air conditioner? Here are some reasons why you should choose Daikin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Energy Efficiency<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re willing to increase your up-front investment in exchange for greater cost savings over the long run, pick the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>iSmileEco Series<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>of air conditioners, which boast the maximum 5 energy ticks (Excellent).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our holistic approach to sustainability<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cooling compounds we use in our air conditioners, as well as our installation and maintenance processes, are designed to be as environmentally-friendly as possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>R32 refrigerant<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>we use in certain models can lower electricity consumption by about 10% compared to air-conditioners that use the older R22 refrigerant. The R32 has zero ozone depletion potential and a much lower global warming potential (GWP) of 675, which is about three times lower than the R22. What\u2019s more, air conditioners that operate using the R32 use 20% less refrigerant, and this translates to more cost savings over the long run as well as a smaller carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that\u2019s not all. Daikin also makes it a point to recover refrigerants during repair works, as the venting of this compound is harmful to the environment. The R32 for instance can be recycled and reused. We also use the R134A, R410A and reclaimed refrigerants, all of which are kinder on the environment compared to older cooling compounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of installation, Daikin prides itself in using premium installation materials, including<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>DSP seamless copper pipes<\/strong>, uPVC drainage pipes and Nitrile Rubber Tubing.
