Laser Engraved Ground Marker Plates in Stainless Steel

For this project, GPG Printing used our fiber laser engraving machine to create a custom ground marker plate from 2 mm thick stainless steel.

The plate was engraved to a certain depth, then the engraved area was filled with outdoor paint to make the marking easier to see.

How the Ground Marker Plate Was Made

The design was first engraved directly into the stainless steel plate using fiber laser engraving.

After engraving, the recessed area was filled with outdoor paint. This helps improve the visibility of the text or marking while keeping the information permanently engraved into the metal surface.

Used for Sewer Location Marking

These stainless steel plates were produced as ground markers for sewer tunnels and curved sewer locations.

For this type of application, the marker needs to be clear, durable, and suitable for outdoor conditions. Stainless steel works well because it can handle long-term exposure better than many lighter materials.
