The IQ testing will be based on WISC-V ( Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, latest version 5). It is an intelligence test for children.<\/p>\n
It is a one-to-one session with Dr Sandhu, a certified psychologist (PhD Cambridge University) specialising in Gifted Education. Your child will take a series of verbal and written tests under her observation and supervision.<\/p>\n
Depending on the child’s performance, Dr Sandhu will administer 7-10 primary sub-tests. While only 7 tests are required for a full-scale IQ, Dr Sandhu usually administers 10 to generate a more comprehensive picture of your child’s intellectual profile. You will receive an 8-page written report and the following scores will be provided.<\/p>\n
A Composite Score (from seven of the 10 primary subsets) that represents a child\u2019s overall intellectual ability (FSIQ).<\/p>\n
Five Primary Index Scores measure the following areas of cognitive functioning: the Verbal Comprehension Index (VCI), the Visual-Spatial Index (VSI), the Fluid Reasoning Index (FRI), the Working Memory Index (WMI), and the Processing Speed Index (PSI).<\/p>\n

Dr Sandhu holds a PhD in Psychology (Gifted Education) from the University of Cambridge, UK.<\/p>\n
She is an accredited child psychologist and assessor who conducts internationally recognised IQ Assessments. Dr Sandhu has been working with learners of high abilities since 1996. As an educator, she has taught at the University of Cambridge, University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).<\/p>\n
In her field of speciality (Gifted Education), Dr Sandhu has served in various capacities in institutions worldwide. She is a former Vice-President and current advisor for the National Association for Gifted Children, Malaysia (NAGCM). Her illustrious resume as a Gifted Education advocate includes working with V-Campus (affiliated with Stanford University\u2019s Education Program for Gifted Youth), Cambridge Alliance Centre, iGenius Singapore, and serving as a school psychologist at Raffles Girls\u2019 Secondary School in Singapore.<\/p>\n

Dr Sandhu offers individual and family counselling on social, emotional, and educational issues for gifted and twice-exceptional children. This may include advocacy assistance with school administrators and teachers.<\/p>\n
Parents and educators must understand that while there are many counselling methods, few specific modalities are designed for gifted children. This is due to their exceptional nature, which is attributed to giftedness and distinct characteristics. Conventional approaches to counselling may not suffice when dealing with talented individuals.<\/p>\n
