Some parts might not be relevant to the question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adequacy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use the marks indicated to guide you on how many points to include in your answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check for accuracy in tense, spelling and punctuation marks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CUB Strategy (for analysing questions)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Circle the question stem<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">E.g. What (circle &#8220;What&#8221;) is Superman\u2019s favourite colour?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What the question is asking for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What \/ Which \u2013 state<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How \u2013 explain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When \u2013 time<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why \u2013 reason<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where \u2013 place<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Underline the tense marker<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">E.g. Why did Maggie finally decide to brush her teeth?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bracket the key phrase<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">E.g. Why [didn\u2019t Joe eat the hamburgers] even though he was [starving]?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Common mistakes made by students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Not clarifying the question<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is the actual task?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Know what information you are looking for. Is it a \u2018what\u2019 or a \u2018why\u2019 that is being asked? Always take note of the question stem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Not answering the question in full<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not be tempted to answer the question from memory. Always go back to the passage and read closely for the precise information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using the keywords as a guide, bracket \/ underline \/ highlight the necessary information before you write out the answer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be especially careful with questions that require you to \u201cexplain fully\u201d. Ensure you provide sufficient information in your answer to such questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3.
