While the PSLE score remains a priority requirement, students who perform well in the PSLE Chinese language exam or have garnered achievements in endeavours related to the Chinese language and culture carry more weight in the admissions process.<\/p>\n

Students who have achieved Distinction, Merit, or Pass in HCL and have a PSLE score of 14 or better (i.e. PSLE score \u2264 14) will receive an advantage in their application to SAP schools.<\/p>\n

If multiple students with the same PSLE score apply for the same SAP school, those with better HCL grades will be given priority for placement over other students. This applies before considering tie-breakers.<\/p>\n

That said, Higher Chinese Language (HCL) is not required for admission into SAP schools, nor is it a compulsory subject for students once posted to a SAP school; only Chinese Language is needed for both stages.<\/p>\n

For schools that offer the Integrated Programme<\/a> (IP) and the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) Programme, affiliation priority will only be given to the SEC Programme.<\/p>\n

At least 20% of the spots in each school’s Posting Group will be reserved for students without affiliation priority.<\/p>\n

If your child is interested in the Integrated Programme and SEC Programme offered by the same school, you must list the two school names separately in order of preference. Just so you know, if your child only selects the school with the Integrated Programme, they will not be considered for posting to the SEC Programme, and vice versa.
