An incision is made along the line of the existing crease or along a new, planned crease if there is no crease or the old crease is judged to be too low. Excess skin and fat are carefully removed, and the double eyelid crease is meticulously created or recreated with multiple internal sutures. Accurate closure of the incision with multiple fine sutures ensures a fine, inconspicuous scar. The procedure time is about 2 hours.      <\/div>\n\n    \n      \n      <div class=\"e206-11 x-tabs-panel  \" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-206-11\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-x-toggleable=\"tab-item-206-11\" id=\"panel-206-11\" >\n        <div class=\"iw-tab-item-content  active\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p>Postoperative pain is mild and well controlled with oral painkillers. There will be some swelling and bruising. The eyelids will feel tight initially and it will be hard to open your eyes fully, but as the swelling goes down your eyes will open bigger until they open fully. Stitches will be removed after one week. You will need to apply antibiotic ointment to your wounds for the first ten days. After this you can start wearing eye makeup and this can effectively camouflage the residual swelling and bruising so that you don\u2019t need to wear sunglasses to conceal your eyes anymore. So the effective downtime is about ten days. Exercise may be resumed after three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Although this procedure requires incisions and produces scars, the scars tend to fade very well and become inconspicuous by about six months.
