Plasma energy is produced by combining radio frequency (RF) energy with helium gas. The unique feature of plasma energy is that the skin tightening is produced at a relatively low temperature compared to RF energy. This increases safety and greatly minimizes the risk of skin burns.<\/p>\n<p>Renuvion is usually performed together with Vaser liposuction on body parts that have both excess fat and significant skin laxity so that a greater degree of skin tightening can be achieved compared to Vaser liposuction alone (see tab on VASERlipo).<\/p>\n<p>Common areas that tend to develop both excess fat and significant skin laxity are the double chin area, the arms, front and back bra fat zones, the abdomen, waist, love handles and inner thighs.<\/p>\n<p>Renuvion and Vaser liposuction performed together can produce a powerful body contouring and skin tightening effect. When used to treat the entire trunk (abdomen, waist, lower back and hips), a significant \u201cshrink wrapping\u201d effect results, producing dramatic slimming and contouring effects on the torso. It is also possible to use this combination for patients who are borderline candidates for a tummy tuck due to post-pregnancy abdominal skin laxity. The length of the procedure depends on how many areas are operated on and the surgical work removed. It ranges from one hour to several hours. Small areas can be carried out under local anesthesia or intravenous sedation, whereas large and multiple areas are usually addressed under general anesthesia. It is completed as a day surgery procedure. <\/p>      <\/div>\n\n    \n      \n      <div class=\"e421-11 x-tabs-panel  \" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-421-11\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-x-toggleable=\"tab-item-421-11\" id=\"panel-421-11\" >\n        <p>Pain after surgery is mild and well controlled with oral pain medication. Moderate swelling and bruising are common side effects, but this is due mainly to the accompanying Vaser liposuction procedure. Stitches are removed after one week. Downtime ranges from a few days to about one week, depending on the amount of work done.<\/p>\n<p>The wearing of surgical compression garments is a crucial aspect of recovery. These tight garments compress the skin against the body and play a major role in reducing swelling, enhancing skin tightening and optimizing the body contouring result. Ideally, they should be worn 24\/7 for at least three months, and preferably for up to six months. As swelling subsides and the garment fabric loosens from wear, they should be downsized so that tight compression can be maintained. Strong compliance with this recovery protocol can produce excellent outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Exercise can be resumed about one month after surgery. By three months, about ninety percent of the final result can usually be seen, with the final result being attained at about six months postoperatively.<\/p>      <\/div>\n\n    \n      \n      <div
