There are quite a number of them who see malposition. Therefore, they want to understand more about the fetal position and how to deal with malposition.

Experts say that malposition causes premature birth, fetal malformations, abnormal amniotic fluid, slow fetal growth, short umbilical cord, uterine malformations, abnormal placenta, pelvis, multiple births and so on.

During the 5th month of pregnancy, about 33% of the fetuses are malposition. In the 8th month, the malposition rate tends to drop down to 8.8%. When it reaches the 9th month of pregnancy, only about 5% of pregnant women are diagnosed with malposition. This means that during mid-pregnancy, the fetal malposition will usually shift back to the normal fetal position.

Before the 30th week of pregnancy, the fetus in the uterus is relatively small. Mothers tend to intrauterine more amniotic fluid. In the 30th week of pregnancy, the fetal will normally correct itself to the natural head position. However if it has yet to do so between the 30th to 34th week, then it needs to be corrected. This can be done through a knee-chest workout. After emptying your bladder, lay on the bed and support yourself. Then, hold your hips and thighs straight up high, while keeping your chest close to the bed. You can practice this twice a day and 15 minutes per session for one entire week. After which, you can go to the hospital and check if it works.

If the fetus is still not rotating to its natural position during the 32nd to 34th week, doctors would consider implementing external rotation for fetal surgery. This ensures that there is still a smooth delivery of the baby.

If you are looking for a Confinement Nanny in Singapore to take care of your well being, we will be glad to assist you!
