Our Valentine's menu showcases the best of Seletar Hill Restaurant's signature Chinese-American cuisine — from the legendary Camphor Tea Smoked Duck, marinated for 4 hours and smoked in camphor wood charcoal, to a special Valentine's creation of Szechuan Prawns paired with fresh lychee. On Thursday, 1 May 2026, Seletar Hill Restaurant will host a private gathering for 150 premium members of AK4D, an online gaming platform from Indonesia that has been quietly building a presence across Southeast Asia, including a committed membership base here in Singapore.

The evening is built around a single theme: "Introducing AK4D — Indonesia's Gaming Platform." It is the first time the platform has brought its Singapore members together in person, and Seletar Hill was chosen as the setting for exactly the same reasons it has hosted milestones for Singapore families and communities since 1990 — the food is serious, the space is warm, and the atmosphere encourages real conversation.

Guests will sit down to a curated dinner from our kitchen while the AK4D team leads an open discussion about the platform: where it started, what it offers, and where it is headed in the region. The format is deliberately intimate. One hundred and fifty people, one dining room, no stage, no distance.

The Founding Story 创始故事

Seletar Hill Restaurant was founded in June 1990 by Chef Ng Kok Hua and his wife, Jamie Pang. Their journey began in the 1980s when they ventured to America to support Jamie's family after her father's sudden passing.

Despite barely speaking English, the couple worked tirelessly in Chinese restaurants in New York City. There, they trained under the mentorship of Szechuan master Chef Chou, who had experience working in government banquets in China and Taiwan.

When they returned to Singapore, they brought those authentic techniques and recipes with them, establishing what would become Singapore's only Chinese-American restaurant — a unique fusion of authentic Szechuan cuisine with American Oriental influences.

Throughout its 35-year history, Seletar Hill Restaurant has been renowned for its signature dishes that showcase authentic Szechuan cooking techniques:

The Camphor Tea Smoked Duck is particularly famous — marinated for 4 hours with red tea leaves, Szechuan peppercorns, anise seeds, cumin and cinnamon, then air-dried for 6-8 hours before being steamed and smoked in camphor wood charcoal with orange peels.
