Looking for Hari Raya Haji spring cleaning Singapore before family and relatives visit?

Hari Raya Haji falls on Monday, 17 May 2027, according to Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Because it follows the weekend, Saturday and Sunday provide a practical window to prepare the home.

Spring Cleaning Singapore provides professional one-time spring cleaning for HDB flats, condominiums, and landed homes.

Use the weekend before Hari Raya Haji as a home-reset plan.

The Weekend-to-Monday Hari Raya Haji Cleaning Plan

You do not need to clean everything in one day.

Use this simple plan.

Friday Evening: Decide Your Priorities

Do not start heavy cleaning after work.

Instead:

• Remove obvious clutter
• Throw away rubbish
• Put valuables and documents safely
• Decide which areas need the most attention
• Prepare cleaning materials
• Confirm any professional cleaning appointment

Choose your three most important areas.

For example:

Kitchen
Bathrooms
Living room

This makes the rest of the weekend much easier.

Saturday: Do the Hard Cleaning

Saturday is the better day for jobs that require more time.

Prioritise:

• Kitchen grease
• Bathrooms
• Windows and grilles
• Ceiling fans
• Hard-to-reach dust
• Floors that need more detailed cleaning

These tasks can take longer than expected.

Do the difficult work first rather than leaving it until Sunday night.

Sunday: Prepare the Areas People Will Use

Sunday should be lighter.

Focus on the home being comfortable and presentable.

Check:

• Entrance
• Living room
• Dining area
• Common bathroom
• Visible surfaces
• Main floors

Remove unnecessary items and make sure frequently used spaces are easy to move around.

Monday: Only Do Final Touch-Ups

Hari Raya Haji morning should not become another cleaning session.

Keep it simple:

• Wipe the dining table
• Check the bathroom
• Empty bins
• Remove obvious floor dirt
• Put away cleaning supplies

By Monday, the heavy work should already be finished.

Hari Raya Haji 2027 Weekend Home Reset at a Glance

Use this quick visual guide to see what to prepare on Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday and Monday before Hari Raya Haji 2027.

What Should You Clean First If Time Is Limited?

Not every part of the home has equal priority.

Use this order:

Priority	Area	Why
1	Kitchen	Grease and food-preparation areas can take time
2	Bathrooms	Frequently used and highly visible
3	Living room	Main family and gathering area
4	Entrance	First area people see
5	Main floors	Makes the whole home feel more finished

If you still have time, move to windows, bedrooms, balconies, and less-used areas.

Do not sacrifice the important areas just to finish a very long checklist.

What Should You Not Start on Sunday Evening?

Some cleaning jobs look small but can easily take several hours.

Avoid starting these late on Sunday:

• Full kitchen degreasing
• Many windows and grilles
• Major decluttering
• Moving large furniture
• Cleaning several bathrooms from top to bottom
• A full-home spring clean

If these tasks are necessary, schedule them earlier.

The goal is to enter Hari Raya Haji with the home ready, rather than feeling exhausted from cleaning late into the night.

Should You Clean Before or After Hari Raya Haji?

For most homes, the answer depends on the current condition.

Clean Before Hari Raya Haji If

• The kitchen has built-up grease
• Bathrooms need detailed cleaning
• Floors or windows have been neglected
• You want major cleaning completed before Monday
• You do not have enough time to do everything yourself

Clean After Hari Raya Haji If

• Your home is already in good condition
• You only expect light household activity
• Your bigger concern is cleaning after gatherings
• You prefer to deal with new mess afterwards

Some households may simply need light cleaning before and another quick reset afterwards.

There is no need to book a large cleaning session if the home does not require one.

How Is Hari Raya Haji Cleaning Different From Hari Raya Puasa?

Hari Raya Haji and Hari Raya Puasa are different occasions.

Because Hari Raya Haji 2027 falls on a Monday, this guide focuses on using the weekend before the holiday for practical home preparation.

If you are preparing specifically for Hari Raya Puasa, see our separate Hari Raya Puasa spring cleaning Singapore 2027 guide.

When Should You Book Hari Raya Haji Spring Cleaning?

If you want a particular appointment, avoid leaving the booking until the final weekend.

A practical approach is:

2 to 3 weeks before: check your schedule and cleaning needs.

1 to 2 weeks before: confirm your appointment if professional cleaning is needed.

Final few days: keep mainly for light household preparation.

Booking earlier is especially useful for larger homes or customers who need several cleaners.

When Does Professional Spring Cleaning Make Sense?

Professional help can be useful when:

• The home requires more work than you have time to complete
• Kitchen grease has built up
• You have several bathrooms
• There are many windows and grilles
• The property is large
• You want several priority areas cleaned in one session

The amount completed will always depend on the home size, condition, manpower, and cleaning time booked.

If time is limited, tell the cleaning team your most important areas before work begins.
