What challenges do trans people here face in simply trying to be who they are? How have they not only survived, but thrived, finding joy and creating community in a society that isn\u2019t always forgiving of any deviation from heteronormative standards?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conjunction with Pride Month, Wild Rice proudly presents <strong><em>trans:mission<\/em><\/strong>, the first work in Singapore that is fully devised, written and performed by trans people. Through a series of structured conversations around keywords such as \u2018transphobia\u2019, \u2018dysphoria\u2019 and \u2018utopia\u2019, this inspiring new work celebrates the stories of trans folk \u2013 told in their own words, and with their own voices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directed by trans theatre-maker Medli Dorothea Loo, with dramaturgy by acclaimed playwright Alfian Sa\u2019at, this brave and candid piece of documentary theatre seeks to expand public discourse on gender and sexuality by creating a space of reflection and illumination.
