In\u00a0Make It Rain<\/em>, a memorable song-and-dance sequence, Rizq and Nadim do a little softshoe in perfect sync with their \u201cidols\u201d \u2013 a term the boys use in reference to all the adults they\u2019re working with in the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rizq and Nadim were recruited out of dance school by the show\u2019s choreographers, Hafeez Hassan and Gino Flordeliza Babagay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThey were teaching us in school, and asked us to be part of this show,\u201d explains Rizq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cA big show with a lot of kids!\u201d Nadim chimes in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The two boys share an easy friendship and chemistry that\u2019s evident from the way they respond to questions in unison and complete each other\u2019s sentences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Performing in The Emperor\u2019s New Clothes<\/em> is a completely new experience for both boys. While they have performed to larger audiences on Mediacorp\u2019s The Dance Floor<\/em>, this is the first time Rizq and Nadim have been called upon to act and sing, as well as dance, on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat\u2019s a new thing for me,\u201d confesses Rizq, \u201cto do all those things at the same time! Normally, we only dance!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n But both boys clearly relish the challenge. To prepare for the show, they studied the script and rehearsed their lines with each other, sometimes seeking help from the adult actors in the cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Their hard work has paid off. \u201cOur parents are so proud of us!\u201d Nadim beams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They\u2019ve had to get used to the rigours of staging a show as big as The Emperor\u2019s New Clothes<\/em>. Tech week, during which the production moves into the theatre and days are spent on technical adjustments, was especially trying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt was very boring, because they kept stopping!\u201d laments Rizq. \u201cWe had to sit and wait until they called us, when we could change into costumes and go on stage. We had to be very serious.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n But it wasn\u2019t just all work and no play. The boys have made firm friends amongst the FIRST STAGE! Kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe have a \u2018Lepak<\/em> Crew\u2019,\u201d Nadim explains mischievously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2018Lepak<\/em>\u2019 means \u2018relax\u2019!\u201d interjects Rizq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDuring dinner time, the other kids play Minecraft or talk\u2026 but we like to sit by the side and lepak<\/em>\u2026 or sleep!\u201d laughs Nadim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s evident that Rizq and Nadim have enormously enjoyed their experience on The Emperor\u2019s New Clothes<\/em>. When asked whether they want to keep acting, they exclaim in perfect unison, \u201cYes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cPerforming in the pantomime is like a dream come true!\u201d proclaims Nadim.
