Singapore, 25 March 2020 <\/strong>\u2013 In light of the recent developments relating to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, WILD RICE regretfully announces that it will be postponing its upcoming productions of Grandmother Tongue<\/em>, An Inspector Calls <\/em>and HOTEL<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This decision was made following the latest Ministry of Health directives mandating the closure of all entertainment venues including theatres and the cancellation of all mass gatherings (until 30 April 2020); as well as the ongoing social distancing measures and travel restrictions (until 30 June 2020). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are deeply sorry for disappointing those who were looking forward to our upcoming shows,\u201d says Ivan Heng, Founding Artistic Director of WILD RICE. \u201cWe kept our shows going for as long as we could, knowing how theatre can inspire and bring a community together in troubling times. However, the health and well-being of our patrons, artists and all who work with WILD RICE must take precedence.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New dates will soon be announced for Grandmother Tongue<\/em>, which was originally scheduled to run from 2 to 19 April 2020 at WILD RICE\u2019s Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre in Funan. An Inspector Calls <\/em>(initially slated to run from 7 May) and HOTEL (from 11 June) will be postponed until 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audience members who have purchased tickets to Grandmother Tongue<\/em>, An Inspector Calls <\/em>and HOTEL <\/em>will be contacted by SISTIC in the coming days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrons and supporters are encouraged to refer to WILD RICE\u2019s social media channels for the latest updates on its programming, as well as the Ministry of Health\u2019s official website for the latest information and advisories on the COVID-19 situation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
