Created in collaboration with the internationally renowned Victorian Opera, The Butterfly Lovers <\/em>is the world\u2019s first English-language opera adaptation of the classic Chinese folktale. This production won critical acclaim at its world premiere in Melbourne, Australia, in October 2022. It is directed by Ivan Heng (Founding Artistic Director, Wild Rice), composed by Richard Mills (Artistic Director, Victorian Opera) and written by Singaporean playwright Joel Tan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Singapore production will be staged in May 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AUDITION DETAILS<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

All interested candidates should prepare the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Two videos featuring contrasting arias (one in English)<\/li>
  2. Performance r\u00e9sum\u00e9 (in PDF format)<\/li>
  3. Headshot (taken within the last 6 months)<\/li>
  4. Full body shot (taken within the last 6 months)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Please email your videos and all other required items for your application to production@wildrice.com.sg<\/a><\/strong> by 14 November, Monday, 7pm<\/u><\/strong>. The subject header of your email should read \u2018Butterfly Lovers Audition (Your Name)\u2019<\/strong>. Please do not call to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Candidates will then be shortlisted for in-person auditions<\/strong> on:<\/strong>
