89岁的香港巨富李嘉诚，6月27日在汕头大学毕业典礼上发表演讲。今年是他连续第16年，以汕头大学的创办人和董事会名誉主席的身份出席大学毕业典礼并致辞。他向即将踏入社会的学生传授如何在人工智慧的时代成为有智有勇，以及有良知的驾浪者。以下是他今年演讲的精选语录：
愚人只知道“为”（to do），智者有愿力，把“为”（to do）变“成为”（to be）。
A fool only knows what and how “to do”, whereas a wise person uses the strength of his or her positive intent （avedha-vasa in Buddhist teachings） to transform the “to do” into “to be”.
在高增长机遇巨浪中，愚人见石，智者见泉。
When a fool stands before the tidal wave of high gth opportunity, he or she sees obstacles, whereas a wise person recognises a gush of possibilities.
因循的并发症是不思不想和无感无知，在人工智能时代中肯定过不了关。驾浪者的基本功，时时刻刻要灵敏、快知快明，要有独立思考悟力、能运用想象，把现实、数据、信息合组成新。
Staying put in the old ways will only make an unthinking and unfeeling person who will definitely be eliminated in our age of artificial intelligence. The fundamental skill of a person who rides the waves is that of perpetual agility. They are quick to learn and fast to react. They have independent thinking skills which let them use their imagination to combine facts, datas and information innovatively to create something new.
良知是成就尊严和有存在意义的明灯。
As the guiding light that helps shape our dignity, conscience has its rightful place in our personal life and society.
自律是铁杵成针的意志功夫。每个希望成为大舞蹈家的人，每天面镜，并非顾影自怜，而是不怕疲惫、不怕痛苦，一而再，再而三，修正追求举重若轻的完美，技巧内化自我之中。走到台前，“身与物化，意到图成”。
Self-discipline is the art of the will that can sharpen an iron rod into a needle. Those who wish to become great dancers aren't looking at the mirrors to vainly admire themselves, but to overcome their fear of pain and to tirelessly better themselves to strive for perfection. When their techniques have fused into their being, body and matter becomes one, they are able to create anything they set their mind to on stage.
