About Brain Booster
What is Brain Booster?
Brain Booster provides student care for primary-school children in Hougang and Kovan. Our programme combines a structured daily routine, schoolwork support, caring guidance and age-appropriate opportunities for children to build confidence, responsibility and independence.
Which ages and primary levels does Brain Booster support?
Brain Booster’s current public programme information is designed for children aged approximately 6 to 12, from Primary 1 to Primary 6. Please contact the preferred centre to confirm the levels currently accepted and whether a place is available.
What makes Brain Booster different from tuition?
Student care supports the child’s after-school routine: safe care, meals, schoolwork completion, revision habits, communication and personal development. It is not a replacement for subject-specialist tuition. Families who need intensive subject teaching may choose tuition separately.
What does “school-first, whole-child” mean?
It means school responsibilities come first, while children are also guided to build useful routines, confidence, independence and consideration for others. The aim is a balanced after-school environment rather than a schedule that focuses only on worksheets or only on recreation.
Can parents visit a centre before deciding?
Yes. Parents may contact the relevant centre to request information or arrange a suitable time to visit. A visit is useful for understanding the environment, daily routine, communication process and current availability.
Enrolment, availability and fees
How do I enrol my child?
Start by contacting the Kovan or Hougang branch. The team will confirm the child’s level, school, preferred start date, pickup needs and current availability, then explain the next steps and documents required.
Are places currently available?
Availability can change by branch, primary level and intake period. Please contact the preferred centre for the latest information. If a place is not immediately available, ask whether you can register interest for a future intake.
Can I join a waiting list or register interest?
Where immediate placement is unavailable, parents may ask the centre to record their interest for a future intake. The branch will explain what information is required and whether a waiting-list or future-intake process is currently offered.
How much are the student care fees?
Fees may depend on the programme, branch and any approved additional arrangements. Please request the current written fee schedule from the relevant centre before enrolling. The website should not display an outdated fee.
Is there a registration fee, deposit or withdrawal notice period?
Please ask the centre for the current enrolment terms, including any registration fee, deposit, payment schedule and notice period. Parents should receive the applicable written terms before confirming enrolment.
Locations and operating hours
Where are Brain Booster’s centres?
Brain Booster has two published locations: Kovan Branch at 124 Hougang Avenue 1, #01-1436, Singapore 530124, and Hougang Branch at 311 Hougang Avenue 5, #01-179, Singapore 530311
What are the operating hours on school days?
The current published hours are Monday to Friday, 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm on school days. The centres are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Please confirm special arrangements directly with the branch.
What are the operating hours during school holidays?
The current published non-school-day and vacation hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 7:00 pm. Parents should confirm the applicable holiday schedule, arrival arrangements and any additional charges before each holiday period.
Is Brain Booster open on weekends or public holidays?
The current published schedule states that both centres are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Which branch should I contact?
Contact the branch that best matches your child’s school, pickup needs and home or work route. Kovan Branch: +65 6635 1401 or +65 9855 2920. Hougang Branch: +65 8043 9489.
School pickup and arrival
Does Brain Booster provide school pickup?
School pickup arrangements depend on the branch, school, dismissal time, route capacity and current operational arrangements. Contact the preferred branch with your child’s school and dismissal details so the team can confirm what is available.
Which schools are currently served?
School coverage can change. Please ask the relevant branch for the current list and pickup arrangements rather than relying on an older online list.
What if my child has a late dismissal or school activity?
Tell the centre as early as possible and provide the school’s supporting schedule or notice where required. Alternative collection may depend on timing, transport availability and any applicable charge.
How will I know my child has arrived?
Brain Booster uses its parent communication process to update families on attendance and relevant matters. Parents should keep their contact details current and call the branch promptly if a child’s expected arrival changes.
What should I do if my child is absent or has different dismissal arrangements?
Inform the centre before 1:00 pm where possible, and include the child’s name, school, dismissal details and the relevant date. For urgent same-day changes, contact the branch directly rather than relying only on a message.
Homework, revision and learning
Does Brain Booster supervise school homework?
Yes. School responsibilities are prioritised during the daily routine. Staff help children identify assigned work, maintain focus, seek clarification when needed and develop the habit of completing tasks responsibly.
Does Brain Booster check every homework answer?
For Primary 1 and 2 pupils, work may be reviewed more closely so obvious mistakes can be identified and corrected. For Primary 3 to 6, the volume and complexity of work may make detailed checking of every answer impractical; completion, effort and appropriate support remain the priority.
What happens if my child does not understand the homework?
Staff can clarify instructions, guide the child’s thinking and encourage a suitable next step. If a child needs extensive reteaching or specialist subject support, the centre may inform the parent so the family can decide whether additional help is needed.
Does Brain Booster prepare children for spelling and Chinese dictation?
Where schools provide word lists or schedules, children may be guided to revise spelling and Chinese dictation as part of their routine. The exact process depends on the child’s level, school requirements and available time.
Does Brain Booster provide revision work?
After school responsibilities are completed, children may work on suitable revision or level-based materials according to the centre’s current programme and schedule. These materials support practice and routine; they do not replace the child’s school curriculum or specialist tuition.
Can my child bring tuition or parent-assigned work?
Children may complete clearly assigned independent work when the daily schedule permits. Staff can offer simple clarification, but the centre may not be able to reteach a separate tuition method or supervise unlimited additional worksheets.
Does Brain Booster use e-learning?
Children may be supported with compulsory school-based online work when access details and instructions are provided. Any additional digital learning should be described only according to the centre’s current practice and timetable.
Meals, wellbeing and daily life
Are meals provided?
Brain Booster’s published programme includes meal support as part of the student care routine. Menus and serving arrangements may vary, so parents should ask the centre for the current menu and disclose dietary needs before enrolment.
Can the centre accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Parents must declare allergies and dietary restrictions clearly during enrolment and update the centre if anything changes. The branch will explain what it can safely accommodate; parents should not assume that every dietary requirement can be met.
Is there an afternoon snack or tea break?
A tea break may be included according to the centre’s daily schedule. Please check the current arrangement with the branch, especially if your child has dietary restrictions.
What happens if my child feels unwell?
If a child becomes unwell, the centre will contact the parent or authorised guardian and may request prompt collection so the child can rest or receive medical attention. Children who are unwell should not attend until they are fit to participate safely.
What temperature is treated as a fever?
The current parent handbook uses 37.5°C or above as the point for contacting parents and assessing collection arrangements. Brain Booster should confirm that this remains its approved health policy before publishing the threshold.
Does my child need to wear a uniform?
Parents should follow the centre’s current dress or uniform requirements. Ask the branch what is required, when it should be worn and how replacement items can be obtained.
Communication, holidays and activities
How does Brain Booster communicate with parents?
Brain Booster uses a parent communication channel for attendance, notices and day-to-day updates. For urgent matters or same-day changes, parents should call the relevant branch. Keep all authorised-contact details current.
What information should parents share with the centre?
Share accurate school dismissal times, authorised pickup contacts, health and allergy information, changes to attendance and any instructions that affect the child’s safety or routine. Do not send sensitive information through an unapproved channel.
What happens during the school holidays?
On non-school weekdays, Brain Booster’s published hours are 7:30 am to 7:00 pm. The detailed holiday programme, arrival window, meals and any charges should be confirmed with the branch for each holiday period.
Does Brain Booster offer enrichment, STEM activities or holiday camps?
After children complete their responsibilities, the centre may provide structured activities according to its current programme and schedule. Please ask the branch what is presently offered. Brain Booster should not describe these as enrichment programmes, STEM stations or holiday camps until the service scope has been formally confirmed.
How can I get the most accurate answer for my child?
Contact the preferred branch with your child’s primary level, school, dismissal time, preferred start date and pickup needs. The team can then give an answer based on the current intake and branch arrangements.
Still have a question?
Contact the Kovan or Hougang team for guidance based on your child’s school and schedule.
