Suntory Kakubin Whisky

First created in 1937 by Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii, Kakubin takes its name from its distinctive square-shaped bottle. More than eight decades later, it remains one of Japan's most iconic whisky expressions and a cornerstone of Suntory's whisky range.

Kakubin is a carefully balanced blend featuring whiskies from Suntory's Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries, creating a harmonious combination of sweet, fruity aromas, rich flavour and a pleasantly dry finish. Official tasting notes highlight lemon, green apple, butter cookie and hazelnut on the nose, followed by popcorn, apple, dried coconut and baked almond on the palate. The finish is characteristically dry and delicate.

Bottled at 40% ABV, Kakubin is highly versatile and can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or mixed into cocktails. Its signature serve is the Kaku Highball, where chilled whisky, soda and ice bring out its crisp, refreshing character while complementing a wide range of Japanese and Asian dishes.
