Dear readers and members,

We've updated our content classification system to better address the requirements set out in IMDA's Code of Practices for Online Safety.

To ensure a better viewing experience for all users - adults and youth alike - we've updated our content classification system to classify all posts if the post content is A) suitable to all viewers or B) viewable only to those age verified to be above 18.

This classification is performed in real time (at the point of posting) by an in-house AI model. As with automation through AI, posts may be mis-classified and we're happy to look into them if they are reported/informed to us via our feedback channels.

This new content-viewing schema also allows us to remove the previous age-check self-declaration pop-up.
However, to view all posts, you would need to age-verify yourself as 18 or older via SGid.

This is optional and up to personal preference, but not verifying your age means the system will treat users as youth, by default. Some posts may not be viewable if the system classifies them as age-inappropriate for youths, even if they do not violate our content policy.

Thank you for your kind understanding.

FAQ

Q1: Why are many old posts not viewable?

A: Most posts prior to 2024 have yet to be classified by our content classification system, and thus, they are only accessible to those who've age-verified to be above 18. We're aware of this limitation, and the system will parse all the older content in due time. We apologise for the inconvenience in the interim. 🙏

Q2: How old do you need to be use HWZ Forums, and what can be expected?

A: Please refer to our FAQ in this help section.

Q3: What information does HWZ store through this age verification process?

A: Please refer to our FAQ in this help section. You can also find further clarification here.

Q:4 Does that mean I can now post "above 18" content if I'm age verified to be an adult?

A: Please note that all content is subject to our Content Policy advisory, and for avoidance of doubt, these are some of the egregious content types that we strictly do not allow. There are no changes on this front.
