SL Aesthetic Clinic Singapore
SL Aesthetic Clinic is one of Singapore’s longest-established aesthetic medical clinics, founded in the 2000s by Dr Kelvin Chua. With 13 registered doctors across ten outlets, we offer a continuously updated range of minimally and non-invasive, FDA-approved and CE-marked medical aesthetic treatments for skin, face, hair, and body.
Our approach centres on one principle: every recommendation should be based on what your skin and facial anatomy actually need, not on what’s trending. Every patient journey starts with a proper consultation – an honest, no-pressure assessment that gives you the information to make the right decision for yourself.
Whether you are exploring aesthetic treatment for the first time or looking for a second opinion on a concern that hasn’t responded to previous treatment elsewhere, our doctors are here to help.

What to Expect at Your
First Visit
First-time patients often arrive unsure of what to say, what will happen, or whether they’re ready to commit to anything.
The short answer: you don’t need to be ready for anything other than a conversation. Here is what a first visit to SL Aesthetic Clinic looks like from start to finish.
01
Before You Arrive
You don’t need to prepare anything specific, and you certainly don’t need to decide on a treatment in advance – that’s what the consultation is for. Think about what bothers you most and what you want to achieve with us. Come with clean skin if possible, and bring a list of any skincare products or medications you’re currently using.
02
Your Consultation
Our doctors will spend time assessing your skin type, facial anatomy, and medical history. There is no pressure to proceed with any treatment on the day.
03
Your Treatment Plan
If a treatment is recommended, our doctors will explain what it does, why it suits your concern, what realistic outcomes look like, how many sessions are typically needed, what the downtime involves, and what it costs.
Honest expectation-setting is something we take seriously – we would rather tell you a treatment is unlikely to achieve what you’re hoping for than proceed and disappoint.
04
If You Proceed
Most treatments can be performed on the same day as your consultation if you choose to go ahead.
If you have a low pain threshold or anxiety about getting treatments, please tell your doctor at the start of the consultation – we will adjust our approach accordingly.
For patients who are particularly sensitive, we also offer other comfort protocols on request, including using micro needles (MEMS needle technology), topical numbing creams, ice or cooling methods, distraction techniques such as vibration or tapping, oral analgesics, sedatives and inhaled analgesics.
05
After Your Treatment
Our doctors will explain exactly what to expect after treatment. For treatments that require multiple sessions, our doctors will recommend an appropriate interval.
Our Doctors
All doctors at SL Aesthetic Clinic are registered with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) and hold valid practising certificates, including the relevant Certificate of Competence (COC) for aesthetic procedures.

Why Patients Choose SL Aesthetic Clinic
We are aware that there are many aesthetic clinics in Singapore to choose from. Here is what we believe differentiates us from others:
Honest Consultations
Our doctors are incentivised to give you the right advice, not the most expensive advice. We only recommend what’s best for you.
Multi-Disciplinary Depth
With over 10 doctors covering skin, face, hair, and body we can manage simultaneous concerns without referring patients to multiple clinics.
Clinically Current
SL has been operating for over 20 years, continuously updating our treatment menu as evidence and technology evolve. We introduce new technologies only when they represent genuine clinical improvement, and every treatment undergoes rigorous in-house testing before being offered to patients.
Sought After
SL Aesthetic Clinic has been featured in The Straits Times, CNA, Vogue, and more. Our doctors are regularly invited to speak and comment on aesthetic medicine in Singapore media.
Who Should Book a Consultation
A consultation at SL is appropriate for any of the following:
- You are considering aesthetic treatment for the first time and want an honest assessment of your options.
- You have a specific skin concern (acne, pigmentation, scarring, rosacea) that has not responded adequately to over-the-counter or GP-prescribed treatments.
- You are noticing facial ageing changes (volume loss, skin laxity, wrinkles, or changes in your facial proportions) and want to understand what is actually happening and what can be done.
- You have had treatment elsewhere and are not satisfied with the results, or want a second opinion.
- You are visiting Singapore from overseas and want to make use of your time here for a treatment you have been considering.
- You are simply curious about what aesthetic medicine can offer.
Medical Concierge Service
For patients visiting from overseas, SL Aesthetic Clinic offers a Medical Concierge Service. Your concierge coordinates your consultation scheduling, answers questions between appointments, manages your treatment plan calendar, and ensures continuity across sessions and doctors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know what treatment I want before I book?
No. Many patients arrive not knowing what they need – that is exactly what the consultation is designed to determine. Come with a description of your concern and your doctor will take it from there. Arriving with a specific treatment in mind is fine too, but be prepared for your doctor to agree, suggest an alternative, or recommend a combination approach.
How long does a first consultation take?
A thorough first consultation at SL takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes. If you have multiple concerns or a complex history, allow a little more time. We do not rush consultations.
Is the consultation free?
Please contact us directly for current consultation fee information. Any consultation fee is typically offset against treatment if you proceed on the day.
Can I do treatment on the same day as my consultation?
Yes, in most cases. If you decide to proceed after your consultation and the treatment is available at the outlet on that day, we will do our best to accommodate you in the same visit.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Clean skin is helpful for assessment but not mandatory – you can remove makeup at the clinic. Bring a list of any skincare products, supplements, or medications you are currently taking. If you have had previous aesthetic treatments elsewhere, knowing roughly what was done and when is useful context for your doctor.
Are your doctors MOH-registered?
Yes. All doctors at SL Aesthetic Clinic are registered with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) and hold valid practising certificates.
Do you offer consultations in Mandarin?
Yes. Several of our doctors and patient coordinators are fluent in Mandarin. Please let us know your language preference when booking and we will do our best to match you with an appropriate doctor.
Will my treatment be painful?
One of the most common questions we hear from patients who are new to aesthetic treatment is whether it will hurt. It is a completely valid concern, and one we take seriously.
The honest answer is that experience varies by treatment and by individual.
In general, laser and energy-based treatments may produce brief sensations of warmth, tingling or snapping, while injectable treatments can involve a brief sensation during needle insertion.
At SL Aesthetic Clinic, we offer a range of comfort measures to help make treatments more manageable. These include MEMS needle technology, which can reduce insertion discomfort compared with conventional needles, as well as topical numbing creams, cooling methods and vibration devices. Depending on the procedure and individual needs, additional options such as oral analgesics, sedatives or inhaled analgesics may also be considered.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
Our doctors will assess this at consultation. The most common mistake patients make is self-diagnosing from online research and arriving with a fixed idea of what they need. We find that patients get better outcomes when they describe their concern and let the doctor’s assessment guide the recommendation.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
If you would like to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please inform us a few days in advance. We ask for reasonable notice for cancellations to allow us to offer the slot to other patients.
I had treatment at another clinic and am not happy with the results. Can you help?
Yes. We regularly see patients for second opinions and for management of unsatisfactory results from treatment elsewhere. Please book a consultation and we will assess the situation honestly.
Do you treat men?
Yes. A meaningful proportion of our patients are male. SL offers treatments specifically relevant to men including FUE hair transplant, hair loss treatment, jaw reduction, body contouring, and skin treatments for acne and scarring. We also offer ESWT shockwave therapy for men’s health concerns.
