Rebranding a founder-led clinic into a scalable, investment-ready practice

Aliveo Medical is a Singapore gastroenterology practice, formerly known as the Chua Tju Siang Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Liver Medical Group. Vantage Branding renamed and rebranded it as Aliveo Medical, freeing the practice from its dependence on a single founder's name so it could grow into a multi-doctor group and attract investment.

About Aliveo Medical

About Aliveo Medical

For years the practice was known as the Chua Tju Siang Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Liver Medical Group, built on the reputation of its founder, a respected senior consultant gastroenterologist. That name carried real trust, earned over a long career in digestive endoscopy, gastroenterology and liver care.

A personal name is both an asset and a limitation. It signals the expertise of one doctor, but it makes growth harder, whether that means becoming a multi-doctor group, opening new locations or bringing in partners. To scale, the practice needed a brand that belonged to the organisation rather than to one individual.

Where the practice stood before

The founder's name limited the clinic's ability to grow into a multi-doctor practice or expand into new locations and services. Any plan to sell or transfer the business risked losing value if the brand remained tied so closely to one person. It also constrained the practice's ability to attract a wider patient base and to be seen as a comprehensive healthcare provider rather than a single-doctor clinic.

Building the Aliveo Medical brand

Building the Aliveo Medical brand

Vantage renamed the practice Aliveo, a name drawn from "alleviate" and "alive" that speaks to relieving pain and promoting a vibrant, healthy life. The identity carries the same idea, with an infinity symbol woven into the letters "e" and "o" to express a commitment to lifelong care and the endless possibilities of health, healing and patient well-being. A full brand system followed, spanning visual identity, messaging around the line "We nurture your healing journey", collateral, environmental branding and a new website, all designed to present Aliveo Medical as a modern, credible and welcoming specialist group.

A brand renewed

The challenge
  • A clinic identity tied to a single founder's name
  • Limited ability to grow into a multi-doctor practice or new locations
  • Value at risk in any future sale or transfer of the business
  • A narrow patient perception as a single-doctor clinic
The outcome
  • A distinctive new name, Aliveo, owned by the organisation rather than one person
  • A meaningful identity built around lifelong care and healing
  • A modern brand system across identity, messaging and website
  • Enhanced credibility that attracted new partners and investment
“Vantage Branding provided us with a full branding suite that helped give my medical practice the enhanced credibility to attract new partners and scale to the next level.”

Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist, Aliveo Medical

Bringing it all together

A brand is often what makes a business transferable. By moving the practice from a founder's name to Aliveo Medical, the rebrand gave it an identity that could stand on its own, attract new doctors and reassure a wider base of patients. That credibility opened the door to investment, with AliveoMedical Holdings partly acquired by Foundation Healthcare Holdings, backed by Temasek's SeaTown investment firm, and integrated into a larger multi-specialty group. When the value of a business is bound up in one person, a well-built brand is how that value becomes something the whole organisation can carry forward.

Frequently asked questions

Who rebranded Aliveo Medical?

Vantage Branding, a Singapore brand consultancy, renamed and rebranded the Chua Tju Siang Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Liver Medical Group as Aliveo Medical, delivering naming, strategy, identity, messaging and website design.

What does the name Aliveo mean?

Aliveo is drawn from the words "alleviate" and "alive". It expresses the practice's mission to relieve pain and promote a vibrant, healthy life, while an infinity symbol in the letters "e" and "o" signals a commitment to lifelong care.

Why did the Chua Tju Siang clinic change its name?

The founder's name limited the clinic's ability to grow into a multi-doctor group, expand or attract investment. Rebranding as Aliveo Medical gave the practice an identity owned by the organisation, which supported its partial acquisition by Temasek-backed Foundation Healthcare Holdings.
