**Updated: 24 July 2026 with the telco pricing. This article was first published on 23 July.**
Samsung’s 2026 foldable line-up is now up for pre-order through Singapore’s telcos, and the three operators have taken visibly different routes. Singtel and StarHub both have S$0 device cost on their 5G Unlimited+ Plans. M1 stacks accessories, credit card rebates and membership discounts into a bundle it values at more than S$1,700. Singtel runs on stackable promo codes and tells customers they can make the S$0 decision.
Check out the telco pre-order promos we’ve compiled, but don’t forget to check what you’ll get from Samsung directly on the following story if you’re not getting it through a Telco:-

Singtel’s pitch is arithmetic rather than a single headline number. Its Galaxy Z page tells customers it has stacked up the savings for them, and that upfront phone discounts and port-in savings offset the difference and produce a lower total spend across 24 months, before inviting them to make the S$0 decision. Selected phones are advertised from S$0 with a Singtel plan.

StarHub’s monthly cost under a 2-year “Buy Now Pay Later’ option
StarHub has two main families of plans: the 5G Unlimited and 5G Platinum plans. Both are no-contract, SIM-only, 5G-enabled plans featuring unlimited local data, talk time, SMS, ScamSafe, and roaming across 165 destinations. The primary difference lies in the tier of service, with Platinum offering higher-tier benefits and more premium device subsidies (and the price you pay).
Further savings will come from the monthly DeviceDollars. StarHub DeviceDollars are monthly, convertible credits ($1 = 1 DeviceDollar) provided to customers on eligible 5G Unlimited+ or 5G Platinum plans. These credits act as a “piggy bank,” accumulating for the length of your payment term (up to 36 months) to reduce upfront costs or offset monthly instalment payments for new phones, tablets, or wearables

How to calculate?
Under StarHub’s “Buy Now Pay Later’ option, the two-year total ownership cost of a Galaxy Z Fold8 1TB using a 5G Unlimited+ Max plan would = 24 months x (Device Cost + Plan Cost - DeviceDollar) = 24 x ($87.08 + $78 - $20) = S$3,481.92.
The Premier League sweetener is worth pausing on. StarHub has that same annual pass at S$380 for non-StarHub customers and S$238 for existing subscribers, so bundling it free with any of the new Fold/Flip models effectively hands buyers a full season of football with the phone, weeks before the 2026/27 campaign kicks off on 21 August.
Buyers eyeing a Galaxy smartwatch should note that only StarHub has published wearable add-on savings, at up to S$250 off the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and S$100 off the Galaxy Watch9.

We reached out to M1 about its SIM-only plans and they told us:
“SIM-only customers can pre-order now and enjoy savings worth over $1530, including a FREE memory upgrade to 512GB on us. Alternatively, if they wish to purchase a device only, they can enjoy discounts of up to S$338.00 (model-dependent). DBS/POSB and Trust customers will also enjoy an additional S$50.00 when they use their card to pay. “
Who has the best plans for the Galaxy Z Fold8 series?
In the costing examples we’ve calculated above, we chose one device from all three telcos (a Galaxy Z Fold8 1TB) and plans around the $70 per month cost (or the next closest possible option we could find), to ensure parity (where possible). Also note that unless bought under a contracted plan, some telcos take the device cost, deduct the relevant discount and subsidies, divide that by 24 and add it to the original plan cost to reach a new monthly plan cost - such as the M1 Bespoke Flexi plan.

For footie fans & those re-contracting
Based on our parameters, a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 (1TB) from StarHub seems to be the most enticing offer if you’re a soccer fan. The overall outlay over two years is roughly similar across the plans, but it comes with an English Premier League annual pass (worth S$380), unlimited local data and 20GB of roaming worldwide, which makes it hard to pass on. The price reflected does not yet consider further discounts for a new line, so there’s more savings to be had if you’re porting in.
For Entertainment fans & cybersecuity
If you’re signing up for a new line with Singtel, you get 2 years of McAfee mobile security protection and 1 year of HBO and VIU subscriptions. So if you’re the sort looking for the best in entertainment from the East and West, this bundle is for you.
For port-in and new-line customers
If you’re a port-in or new-line customer, the price differences across options are narrower. Even so, M1 keeps it simple and offers the most discount opportunities through Citibank and Safrar partnerships and is also the only one to offer a $250 gift pack containing a LeadJoy Blade Plus wireless gaming controller, Levon foldable Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad and leather stand, and a Levon magnetic phone holder with smart vacuum suction.
