Hungary's most famous wine region lies in the foothills of the Zemplén Mountains of the far north of the country - in fact the traditional area crosses into the southeast corner of modern Slovakia. The area is notable for its long warm autumns and mists that come in from the River Bodrog, creating perfect conditions for noble rot. This can contribute towards creating the botrytised 'aszú' grapes for which the region is famous for.

Tokaj-Oremus
The Tokaj area, Tokaj-Hegyalja is located on a mountain chain in north-eastern Hungary. The town of Tolcsva and the Oremus wineries are located in geographical centre of that region.
In 2002, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee recognised the exceptional winemaking conditions of the Tokaj region, its secular capacity to foster culture and its value, and awarded it World Heritage status.

Tuzko Birtok
Tűzkő’s history is directly connected to the Apponyi family who once owned the estate. The Apponyi family (of French origin) established in the region in the 17th century when they purchased the large Hőgyész estate and various smaller, contiguous properties in Tolna. On the ground floor of the estate mansion there is a press house for winemaking. Among the various family properties, Tűzkő was characterized by its capability of producing quality wines. In order to make the best use of the natural attributes of the land, the Apponyis brought about several innovations in viticulture as well as in enology.
