Dental Bridge Cost in Singapore (2026)

Dental-Bridge-Cost

Bridge fees in Singapore are often quoted per unit, and a bridge for one missing tooth normally has three units: the false tooth plus a crown on the tooth at each side of the gap. Your treatment plan can therefore show a very different number from the price list for the same bridge, and it may also carry charges for X-rays or for treatment on a supporting tooth.

Once you know how many units your plan needs and which items sit outside the unit fee, the dental bridge cost becomes much easier to predict, and quotes from different clinics become easier to compare on the same terms.

What Is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth with a false tooth, called a pontic, which is held by the teeth or implants beside the gap. It is fixed in your mouth, so only a dentist can take it off.

A dental bridge most often holds the pontic with a crown on a neighbouring tooth. Some designs use a thin wing bonded to the back of the neighbouring tooth, which means that tooth needs little or no reshaping. The bridge itself is made in a dental laboratory from a scan or mould of your teeth, then cemented in place.

How Much Does a Dental Bridge Cost in Singapore?

At Nuffield Dental, the listed dental bridge fees range from SGD $650 to SGD $3,000 or more per unit, depending on the bridge type and treatment requirements. The total cost may also vary based on the materials used, the number of units required and whether additional procedures are needed.

Bridge Type Cost Range (Per Unit)
Basic fixed bridge SGD $650 - SGD $1,800
Implant-supported or complex bridge SGD $2,800 - SGD $3,000+

These ranges come from Nuffield Dental's 2026 price list. Fees listed are indicative and may vary based on clinical assessment, and all fees are subject to prevailing Singapore Goods and Services Tax (GST).

A dental bridge may be completed over two or more visits, depending on the type of bridge and the condition of the supporting teeth. These appointments may include preparing the teeth, taking scans or impressions, and fitting the bridge once it has been made in a dental laboratory. Work that depends on your teeth, such as an extraction, root canal treatment or a filling on a supporting tooth, is charged on top of the unit fee, and the Additional Costs table below lists each one. Ask your clinic to confirm in writing which steps the unit fee covers.

What a Bridge Unit Is

Bridge fees are charged per unit, so each unit on your plan adds to the cost. A unit is one tooth-shaped part of the bridge: the pontic, or false tooth, is one unit, and so is each crown that holds it. For one missing tooth, picture a crown, the false tooth and a crown in a row, which usually makes three units. Two missing teeth side by side usually take four units, with two false teeth between two crowns.

To estimate the bridge fee, multiply the unit fee by the number of units on your plan. A three-unit basic fixed bridge, for example, would be about three times the unit fee, plus GST, although fee adjustments may apply depending on the number of teeth treated. Each supporting unit is a crown, so our guide to dental crown cost gives a useful sense of what that part of the bridge involves.

Dental Bridge Cost by Type

The type of bridge decides how many units you pay for, how much the neighbouring teeth are reshaped, and whether surgery is involved. The survival figures below come from systematic reviews. Each one shows how many bridges were still in place after a set time, including bridges that needed repairs.

These figures describe the survival rates reported in the studies and do not predict how long an individual dental bridge will last. Outcomes may vary depending on the bridge design, oral health, maintenance and other clinical factors.

Bridge type Fee at Nuffield Dental, per unit Possible benefit Point to weigh
Traditional bridge SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 (basic fixed bridge range) Held by a crown on each side of the gap Both supporting teeth are reshaped
Cantilever bridge SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 (basic fixed bridge range) Held on one side, so it needs fewer units than a traditional bridge All the biting force goes through one tooth>
Maryland bridge SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 (basic fixed bridge range) Little or no reshaping of the neighbouring teeth The wing can come unstuck and need bonding again
Implant-supported bridge SGD $2,800 - SGD $3,000+ Neighbouring natural teeth keep their shape Involves surgery and a healing period

Traditional Bridge

A traditional bridge, also called a conventional bridge, holds the pontic with a crown on the tooth at each side of the gap. Both supporting teeth are reshaped so the crowns can fit over them.

  • Fee at Nuffield Dental: SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 per unit, the basic fixed bridge range on the price list. A three-unit bridge for one missing tooth would be about SGD $1,950 - SGD $5,400, subject to prevailing GST.
  • How long it lasts: Pooled data from systematic reviews put 5-year survival for conventional bridges at 93.8%.
  • Points to weigh: It suits a gap with a sound tooth on each side. Removing enamel from those teeth cannot be reversed.

Cantilever Bridge

This design is held on one side only, usually by the tooth further back in the mouth. It may be considered when only one neighbouring tooth can support a crown, and it needs fewer units than a traditional bridge for the same gap.

  • Fee at Nuffield Dental: The price list has one basic fixed bridge range, SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 per unit, and no separate price for this design. Ask which fee applies to your plan.
  • How long it lasts: In a systematic review, 81.8% of cantilever bridges were still in place after 10 years, and loss of retention, where the bridge comes loose, was the most frequent technical problem at 16.1%.
  • Points to weigh: Because all the biting force goes through one tooth, cantilever bridges are used less often than traditional bridges and are usually kept to areas with lighter bite pressure.

Maryland Bridge

A Maryland bridge, also called a resin-bonded bridge, holds the pontic with a wing bonded to the back of the neighbouring teeth. Those teeth need little or no reshaping, so it is often discussed for front teeth and for younger patients who may want an implant later.

  • Fee at Nuffield Dental: Nuffield Dental's price list does not list this design on its own, so ask which unit fee applies to your plan.
  • How long it lasts: In a review of resin-bonded bridges, 87.7% were still in place after 5 years.
  • Points to weigh: Debonding was common in the same review, affecting 19.2% of bridges over 5 years. A bridge that comes unstuck can often be bonded again, which adds a visit and a fee.

Implant-Supported Bridge

An implant-supported bridge is held by dental implants placed in the jawbone, so the neighbouring natural teeth are not reshaped. It may be considered when several teeth in a row are missing. The number of implants required depends on factors such as the number of teeth being replaced, jawbone condition and overall treatment plan.

  • Fee at Nuffield Dental: An implant-supported or complex bridge is SGD $2,800 - SGD $3,000+ per unit. Ask whether your quote includes the implants themselves.
  • How long it lasts: One systematic review found 95.4% of implant-supported bridges were still in place after 5 years and 80.1% after 10 years. For metal-ceramic (porcelain fused to metal) implant bridges, the 10-year figure was 93.9%.
  • Points to weigh: It involves surgery and a healing period before the bridge is fitted. In the same review, only 66.4% of patients had no complications at all over 5 years, with chipping of the veneering material the most frequent problem.

Factors That Affect Dental Bridge Cost

  • Number of units: Each extra pontic or supporting crown adds one unit fee, so a longer bridge costs more.
  • Type of support: Implant-supported bridges may have different fees from bridges supported by natural teeth. The total treatment cost depends on the bridge, implant components and any surgical procedures required. Ask the clinic which items are included in the quotation.
  • Material: Bridges may be made from metal alloys such as gold, porcelain fused to metal, or all-ceramic materials such as zirconia and lithium disilicate. In a review of bridges with several units, 5-year survival was 94.4% for metal-ceramic, 90.4% for zirconia and 89.1% for reinforced glass-ceramic bridges. These figures show how long the bridges lasted, not what each material costs.
  • Position of the gap: Front teeth often call for a tooth-coloured material and closer shade matching, and back teeth take stronger chewing forces.
  • Condition of the supporting teeth: A supporting tooth with decay, a large old filling or gum problems may need treatment before it can carry a bridge.

Additional Costs That May Be Part of Treatment

Some items on a bridge plan are charged separately from the unit fee. The second table below shows the published Nuffield Dental fee for each one, and your plan will only include the items your case needs.

Start with the basic cost, which is the unit fee multiplied by the number of units. These two examples use the basic fixed bridge range of SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 per unit, before GST and before any extra item.

Missing teeth Units on the plan Basic bridge cost, before GST
1 missing tooth 3 units: a crown, the false tooth and a crown 3 × SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 = SGD $1,950 - SGD $5,400
2 adjacent missing teeth 4 units: a crown, two false teeth and a crown 4 × SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 = SGD $2,600 - SGD $7,200

Fee adjustments may apply depending on the number of teeth treated, so the figure on your own treatment plan may differ. The extra items in the next table are added only if your case needs them.

Item When It May Apply Cost Range at Nuffield Dental
Usual costs for a bridge plan
Consultation and oral examination First assessment SGD $54.50 - SGD $87.20

Are There Subsidies for Dental Bridge Treatment in Singapore?

A bridge is not on the list of CHAS-subsidised dental services, and MediSave generally does not cover it. Some parts of the treatment may still qualify, depending on your card, your age and what your plan includes.

CHAS

The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) subsidises selected dental services for Singapore Citizens with a CHAS Blue, CHAS Orange, Merdeka Generation (MG) or Pioneer Generation (PG) card. The Ministry of Health (MOH) subsidy table includes items that can form part of bridge treatment:

Dental Service PG MG CHAS Blue CHAS Orange
Consultation 30.50 25.50 20.50 13.50
X-Ray 21.00 16.00 11.00 7.50
Permanent Crown 625.00 620.00 615.00 410.00
Re-cementation 45.00 40.00 35.00 23.50

Figures are the maximum subsidy per claim in SGD under the caps that took effect from 1 October 2025, and they reflect the prevailing MOH subsidy framework. CHAS Orange, CHAS Blue, MG and PG cardholders can receive a CHAS dental subsidy for selected dental services at Nuffield Dental clinics, and the dentist makes a clinical assessment of whether each item meets the CHAS claim guidelines.

Medisave-Logo2-01

MediSave

MediSave can be used for selected complex dental procedures that involve surgery and are carried out for medical reasons, subject to CPF withdrawal limits. A bridge on natural teeth involves no surgery, so it is generally not MediSave-claimable.

For an implant-supported bridge, MediSave may be used for the surgical placement of dental implants, subject to CPF withdrawal limits, but not for the bridge itself. Seniors aged 60 and above may also use Flexi-MediSave to offset up to $400 annually for eligible root canal treatments and permanent crowns at CHAS dental clinics and public healthcare institutions. Eligibility for procedures included in a bridge treatment plan should be confirmed with the clinic.

tooth insurance-01

Dental Insurance

Some company and personal dental plans may cover part of a bridge, up to the plan's annual limit. Before treatment starts, check whether your policy covers bridges, how much of the fee it pays, and whether the insurer needs a written estimate first. Nuffield Dental works with a number of insurers through third-party administrators, so the clinic can tell you whether your plan is accepted.

Lifespan vs Cost and Long-Term Considerations

A bridge may need repairs, and at some point it may need replacing, which means paying for new units and possibly treatment on a supporting tooth.

How Long a Dental Bridge Lasts

There is no single answer to how long a bridge lasts. It depends on the design, on the health of the teeth or implants that hold it, and on how well you can clean around it. Most figures under each bridge type above show how bridges did over 5 years. After 10 years, one review estimated that 65% of resin-bonded bridges and 89.2% of conventional bridges were still in place.

Over 10 years, only 71.1% of conventional bridges in one review had no complications at all, so it is worth allowing for the occasional repair in your budget.

If a supporting tooth is lost, the bridge usually needs redesigning, which can turn a replacement into a larger and more expensive plan.

Dental Bridge vs Implant Cost

For a single missing tooth, a cost comparison may involve a three-unit traditional dental bridge and a single dental implant. The treatment requirements and overall costs differ, so the appropriate option depends on your dental condition and clinical assessment.

At Nuffield Dental, a complete single dental implant is SGD $3,500 - SGD $6,000, subject to prevailing GST, and our dental implant cost Singapore guide covers implant fees in more detail. A basic fixed bridge is SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 per unit. Over the long term, one review estimated 10-year survival of 89.4% for single crowns on implants, close to the figure for conventional bridges.

What to compare Dental bridge (three units) Single dental implant
Fee at Nuffield Dental SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 per unit SGD $3,500 - SGD $6,000 for a complete single implant
Total for one missing tooth, before GST 3 units × SGD $650 - SGD $1,800 = SGD $1,950 - SGD $5,400 SGD $3,500 - SGD $6,000
10-year survival in reviews 89.2% for conventional bridges 89.4% for single crowns on implants
What is involved The neighbouring teeth are reshaped Surgery and several months of healing

The bridge total multiplies the per-unit fee by three units and leaves out the extra items listed under Additional Costs. All fees are subject to prevailing Singapore Goods and Services Tax (GST).

A sterilisation and consumables fee may apply to each appointment, including visits to prepare the supporting teeth and fit the bridge. A temporary bridge or denture may also be provided between appointments, depending on the treatment plan.

Dental Bridges Complications

Complications are problems that can come up after a bridge is fitted. The figures below describe conventional bridges over 10 years.

  • Decay or gum disease around the supporting teeth: Food and plaque can collect where the crowns meet the gum, and in conventional bridges this led to the loss of 2.6% of bridges from decay over 10 years.
  • The bridge coming loose: The cement can fail over time. Loss of retention affected 6.4% of conventional bridges over 10 years.
  • Fracture: The bridge material or a supporting tooth can crack. Material fractures affected 3.2% of conventional bridges and fracture of a supporting tooth affected 2.1% over 10 years.

A clinical assessment, including X-rays of the supporting teeth, helps determine whether those teeth can carry a bridge before treatment starts. If a bridge feels loose, rough or sore, arrange a dental review to identify the cause and determine whether repair, adjustment or further treatment is needed.

How to Get an Accurate Bridge Estimate

When you compare a dental bridge price in Singapore between clinics, much of the groundwork can be done online before you book:

  • Read the clinic's published price list: Check whether bridge fees are quoted per unit, and whether GST is included.
  • Check the MOH fee benchmarks: MOH publishes fee benchmarks for 18 common dental procedures under CHAS. Bridges are not one of them, but the benchmark for a permanent crown is $750 - $1,400, excluding GST, which gives a reference point for each supporting crown.
  • Look for the benchmarks at the clinic: From 1 October 2025, CHAS dental clinics must display the fee benchmarks next to their price lists, so you can compare the two.

At the consultation, ask for a written, itemised estimate that answers these questions:

  • Units: How many units does my bridge need, and which teeth support it?
  • Material: Which material do you recommend for this gap, and why?
  • Preparation: Does any supporting tooth need a filling, root canal treatment or gum treatment first?
  • What is included: Are the consultation, X-rays, laboratory work, temporary bridge and per-visit charges included in the quote?
  • Subsidies: Which items, if any, can be claimed under CHAS, MediSave or my insurance?

Why Choose Nuffield Dental for Dental Bridges?

  • Published fee ranges: Our bridge fees are listed per unit on our public price list, together with the separate charges for X-rays, consultation and preparatory treatment, so you can estimate the cost before your first visit.
  • Four bridge designs: We offer conventional, cantilever, Maryland and implant-supported bridges, made in precious metal, porcelain fused to metal or all-ceramic materials such as lithium disilicate and zirconia
  • Dental bridge appointments: After any necessary preparatory treatment, a dental bridge may be completed over two or more visits. Preparation appointments typically take 30 to 90 minutes, while fitting appointments may take 20 to 45 minutes. The number and duration of visits depend on the treatment required, and a temporary bridge or denture may be provided between appointments.
  • Locations across Singapore: Nuffield Dental currently has 10 clinic locations, including Bedok, Holland Village, Westgate, Kovan and Orchard.
  • Dentists you can look up: Our dental bridges page names the dentists who provide this treatment, including Dr Faisal Bin Abdul Aziz, Dr Bruce Lee Ziahern, Dr Sunita Dabas, Dr Ali-Safdar Ireen Mozamil and Dr Hanna Aslam.

Cost Of Root Canal Treatment In Singapore

Root Canal Treatment Cost

The price varies according to the unique treatment prescribed to each individual patient. For example, if a root canal treatment is require for more than one root, the cost would go up as well. However, saving the tooth with a Root Canal treatment is relatively cost-efficient in the long run.

A Root Canal Treatment procedure in Singapore's price ranges from S$500 - S$1700. However, the price may or may not include the crowning of the tooth and consultation charges. Average consultation prices of dental services in Singapore ranges from S$75- S$200.

Root Canal Treatment FAQs

Is a Root Canal Treatment procedure painful?

  • The entire procedure will be done under local anaesthesia, so it will not be painful than getting your tooth filled or a wisdom tooth surgery. However, the affected area may cause discomfort and be slightly sore post-surgery but it goes away after a few days.
  • If the pain persists, please consult our doctor immediately. You can reach us at +65 9839 7363.

Can I go about my day to day activities after a Root Canal Treatment?

  • Most patients are able to return to school or work the next day following a Root Canal Treatment. However, it is advised against eating immediately post-surgery as there may be numbness in the affected area.

What are the side effects of a Root Canal Treatment?

  • The side effects of a Root Canal Treatment differs with each individual. Some people may experience pain or a slight soreness post-surgery, and some people may experience little to no pain at all. This also applies to certain patients experiencing a measured amount of sensitivity associated to cold or heat when consuming food or beverages.

What is the aftercare for a Root Canal Treatment?

  • As a Root Canal Treatment is considered a restorative procedure, the after-care is deemed crucial to experience lasting effects. After your procedure, your dentist will send you home with pain-killers to counter the soreness you may feel when the anaesthesia wears off. It is also strongly advised against the consumption of food until the numbness wears off. Brushing and flossing daily is encouraged to keep the area clean and this in turn would prevent infection. Upon completing any follow-up appointments for the Root Canal Treatment, you may be required to return to the dentist for a final crown to fully restore the tooth. A properly treated and restored tooth can last as long as your natural teeth.

Can a Root Canal Treatment be unsuccessful?

  • A Root Canal Treatment has a 90% success rate of fully restoring your tooth. However. failure to fully restore your tooth can occur if there is a loose crown, tooth fracture or decay. Undetected canal branches or an obstruction that causes the cleaning difficulties may also cause a Root Canal Procedure to fail. Should your Root Canal Treatment be unsuccessful, explore options with Nuffield's Endodontist for possible solutions.

FAQs

The supporting teeth are numbed with a local anaesthetic before they are prepared, unless a tooth has already had root canal treatment. You may feel pressure or vibration, and some tenderness can follow. The fitting visit often needs no anaesthetic. If you are anxious, IV sedation or general anaesthesia may be discussed, and each carries a separate fee.

The main alternatives are a removable partial denture and a dental implant. At Nuffield Dental, partial dentures are SGD $360 - SGD $900, subject to prevailing GST, and you can compare the types in our guide to dentures cost. You take a partial denture out for cleaning. An implant replaces the tooth root and leaves the neighbouring teeth untouched.

There is no fixed deadline. After a tooth extraction, the gum usually needs to heal before the final bridge is made, and a temporary option can fill the gap in the meantime. Over months or years, the teeth beside and opposite a gap can drift or tilt, which can make a bridge harder to fit later.

Yes. A dentist can often take off a loose bridge, check the supporting teeth and cement it back if it is still sound. MOH's fee benchmark for a routine re-cementation is $70 - $131, excluding GST, and the fee for a bridge may differ. Keep a loose bridge and avoid gluing it yourself.

Brush twice a day and clean under the pontic once a day with a floss threader, special bridge floss or a small interdental brush. Your dentist or hygienist can show you the method that suits your bridge at a check-up.

A bridge is not on the CHAS list of subsidised dental services, and Nuffield Dental's MediSave guide lists bridges as not claimable. CHAS Orange, CHAS Blue, Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation cardholders can still claim for a consultation or an X-ray that forms part of a bridge plan.

MediSave may be used for the surgical placement of dental implants, subject to CPF guidelines and withdrawal limits. The dental bridge itself is not MediSave-claimable. Ask the clinic before treatment starts, because your dentist assesses each CHAS claim.
