The building is committed to working towards Net Zero Carbon emissions, focusing on reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 operational energy-related emissions that are within the building’s operational boundary, while taking a holistic approach towards overall emissions reduction. This will be achieved through the implementation of energy efficiency measures, as well as exploring the adoption of renewable electricity plans and renewable energy purchases.

Act
Since 2023, Tanglin Mall has been progressively exploring and implementing various strategies to reduce the building’s energy consumption, and correspondingly, greenhouse gas emissions. These include the upcoming integration of the chilled water system with the centralised chiller plant with JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La, upgrading of airside equipment, common area lighting improvements, mechanical ventilation fan improvements.

The building also actively engages tenants by promoting awareness of energy conservation and responsible resource usage, fostering a more sustainable living environment.

In addition, initiatives such as implementing operational dashboards to monitor and benchmark energy and water consumption, asset tagging to streamline maintenance, and monitoring greenhouse gas emissions are being considered and progressively implemented to enhance operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Through these efforts, Tanglin Mall seeks to align with Singapore’s sustainability goals and progress towards becoming a Net Zero Carbon building over time.
