Stripfoil

Pharma Engineering was formed in the UK in 2007 to bring to market the Stripfoil deblistering process to be used by the Pharma manufacturing and packing industry in the reclaiming of tablets from blister packs.

The process is unique in that it employs a highly specialized consumable adhesive tape which strips the aluminium foil for the underside of each pocket on the blister, allowing the product to fall freely from the pack without the use of excessive force.

The results of this inventive step are the following benefits:

  • No damage to tablets.
  • Absence of contamination of the collected product by foil particles, as they are removed from the process by the Stripfoil tape.
  • High speed – up to 150 blisters processed per minute.
  • No format parts requirement.
  • The ability to change from one blister format to the next in under 5 minutes including line clearance and clean down.

Stripfoil Pharma machines are in use in many FDA regulated plants around the world.

In 2016 the Stripfoil range was widened by the introduction of the Mini – a manually operated machine for the smaller user, and the Moto, which is a semi-automatic machine particularly aimed at capsule deblistering, but also capable of successfully deblistering up to 95% of (European) blistered products.

2019 will see the launch of the Stripfoil Decartoner – a machine which automatically removes blisters from the box, either to be repacked or deblistered.
