What is hair rebonding and how does it work?
Hair rebonding is a chemical process that restructures the hair’s natural bonds to create a smoother, straighter finish. The treatment works by breaking and realigning the internal structure of the hair, followed by heat styling to set the new shape. At our professional hair studio, the process is carefully adjusted based on your hair condition to achieve a balanced and natural-looking result.
Is hair rebonding suitable for all hair types?
Hair rebonding can be customised for a wide range of hair types, including frizzy, wavy, or slightly curly hair. However, suitability depends on the current condition of your hair, especially if it has been previously coloured or chemically treated. A consultation at our hair salon in Singapore helps determine whether rebonding is the right option for you.
How long does hair rebonding last?
The effects of hair rebonding are typically long-lasting, as the treated sections remain straight. However, new hair growth will retain your natural texture, which means touch-ups may be needed over time. The exact duration depends on your hair growth rate and how well the hair is maintained after the service.
How should I care for my hair after rebonding?
Aftercare plays an important role in maintaining smoothness and preventing dryness. It is usually recommended to avoid washing your hair immediately after the service and to use suitable hair care products to maintain hydration. Regular conditioning and gentle styling help preserve the overall finish and manageability.
How often should I redo hair rebonding?
Most clients are recommended to return within 5–6 months after their rebonding session to retouch the new regrowth at the roots. If the interval extends beyond 6 months, it may be more difficult to perform a simple root touch-up, as the difference between treated and natural hair becomes more pronounced.
