The PBSA segment reported a 22.8% YoY revenue increase.

Far East Orchard’s profit after tax (PAT) surged 259.2% year-on-year to $19.7m in H1 2024, fueled by strong performance in its Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) business.

In a bourse filing, Far East Orchard reported that its PBSA segment achieved higher earnings of $29.2m, driven by resilient rental growth and contributions from the Emily Davis asset in Southampton.

The PBSA segment contributed the highest revenue increase of $5.5m, or 22.8%. However, the hotel segment generated a larger portion of total revenue, amounting to $62.4m.

Alongside its net profit, the company also reported a 220.0% YoY increase in profit attributable to equity holders, reaching $18.2m.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
