Singapore leads Southeast Asia fintech funding with $535m haul

Regionally, total funding slipped 3% to 4% against both H2 2025 and H1 2025.

Singapore-based financial technology firms pulled in $535m in funding during the first half of the year, dwarfing every other city in Southeast Asia's FinTech ecosystem.

Tracxn reported the next closest city, Taguig, Philippines, raised just $60m, nearly all of it from Salmon's $60m Series B — the region's only major deal outside Singapore.

Kuala Lumpur, George Town, and Jakarta rounded out the top five, with none clearing $30m.

Regionally, total funding slipped 3% to 4% against both H2 2025 and H1 2025. Seed-stage investment climbed 32% from H2 2025 and 45% from H1 2025 to $78.1m.

Meanwhile, late-stage funding held nearly flat at $451m, up 2% from H2 2025. Early-stage capital was the outlier, falling 28% from H2 2025 and 23% from H1 2025 to $153m, with Series A+ rounds down 20% year on year to 16.

Two rounds carried the half—Airwallex's $320m Series H and Edena Capital's $100m Series D together accounted for more than three-fifths of total capital raised, pushing Digital Remittance ($369m) and Investment Tech ($144m) to the top of the sector rankings.

Acquisitions fell to six in H1 2026, down 25% from H2 2025's eight and 45% from H1 2025's 11, while Initial Public Offerings disappeared entirely from the region's FinTech sector this half.

HCL Technologies' $14.7m purchase of Finergic was the highest-value deal, followed by Western Union's undisclosed-price acquisition of Dash — both Singapore-based companies.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
