Singapore is most attractive market for doing business: report

The Lion City will have the best business environment over the next five years.

Singapore is still the world’s best business environment with a score of 8.70 in the second quarter of 2023, a recent report from insights firm, EIU, showed.

The study measures the attractiveness of the business environment in 82 countries on a quarterly basis, using a standard analytical framework with 91 indicators.

According to the study, Singapore, Canada, and Denmark will be the three countries with the best business environment over the next five years.

Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, and South Korea are also amongst the markets with the top business environment.

The rankings also showed that North America and Western Europe continue to be the best places in the world to do business.

Asia is in third place, ahead of eastern Europe, whilst Latin America marginally outperforms the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
